coney island IS in brooklyn. if you are coming to new york, i recommend that you stay in manhattan, and travel to coney island for a day. a lot of trains run directly from manhattan to coney island, such as N, D, W to name a few. you can spend a day on the beach, eat at the world famous nathans, ride on the cyclone, walk the boardwalk, go on some other not so thrilling rides and play some video games in the many arcades. you can probably do this all in one day as imo theres not much else to do there. you can also visit keyspan park, home of the brooklyn cyclones baseball team. its will be a better experience since youre a warriors fan

Just a quick question, I don't wanna open a new topic; how much are tickets for trains/undeground in NY? DO you have one day travelcard or something similar like in London?

Cyrus, the MTA has daily, weekly and monthly metro cards which can be used on any subway or NYC MTA bus or subway. I do not know how much they cost, as I hate the subway. Lol.

Anyone going to coney, thinking that it would remotely resemble the coney from the movie, will be disappointed. Only things that are left are the WONDER WHEEL, parachute jump and CYCLONE, which are landmarks. The beach is the same lol, but the boardwalk is empty. They took most of the rides games etc and tore them down or moved them to other parts of country. The city and a private developer are fighting over re-developing. I don't see them coming to angreement too soon, so it should be vacant for some time. Don't get me wrong, ANY WARRIORS fan HAS to visit coney if they come to NYC. I guess the vacant buildings and boarded up could resemble coney back in 79. But don't expect this great beachside playground. Also the old bath house ( the pic of the gang in the daytime infront of the spray-painted WARRIORS is gone. You only need 1 day in coney and I wouldn't advise staying in a hotel in coney (until they build the "resort" they want) unless you are going to rent by the hour because they are all THAT kind of places.

Thanks for the answer, LIER ONE. I'm planning a visit to NY early next year, so it's good to know about the transport and all that. I will probably stay with the friend of mine who's living near NY, so I probably won't need a hotel.

Nothing is wrong with THOSE types of places. Just a warning to people who don't like them.
