Warrior

If you could be a warrior or soldier or whatever you wish to call it from any era, what era would you choose?  Me, I would of liked to have been a paratrooper in WW II.

Took the words out of my mouth. Possibly the best trained and most efficient soldiers ever. After seeing Band of Brothers the respect I have for the paratroppers and all other soldiers is massive, it would be an honour to be one I think.

Without any doubt, I'd like to be an ancient Greek or Roman Warrior! Well, maybe a General!!! :D
I'd of liked to take part in conquest of Bretagna, you know tha famous Giulio Cesare campaign... yeah I would of liked!!! Swords, mauls, catapults, kicks and punches!!! WOW!!!
I've always liked they (Greek or Roman) trusted in a War God, well their creed was maybe particular... but also cool!!! 8)

I'd probably be part of WW2. Im more familiar with what happened during that time. Then again I would never join a army I can't take the risk of loosing any limbs just to serve my country.

I could only imagine those stories... My grandpa was a decorated WWII vet too, he was in Greece and Somalia and even if it wasn't just "terrible", he hadn't just a good memory!!!
So I can only imagine 4 istance Normandia "debarkation": Operation Overlord. OMG!!!
I RESPECT those Guys, I mean from any war in any era and Vietnam campaign in particular: I mean all of them really were WARRIORS!!!
So I understand you MiddleMan07!!! 8)

Well I am sure all wars have their bad sides, both my grandparents were in WW II, one in the Army in North Africa, France, and Italy, the other, a Naval Officer in the Pacific.  MY father went to Nam, and my older brother to Iraq during the Desert Storm back in the early 90's.  Nonetheless, just like horror stories, my grandparents, father and brother also told some awesome stories and because of them I created this topic. ;) :D
