Keep in mind they're more 'n likely not amount to anything in the near future, maybe they'll meet someone who's a little dangerous. And as Journey said "scum of the earth."
At least you have police doing something productive rather than giving tickets for not stopping at a stop sign for 3 seconds.  They see something like that happening they'll probably just say "stop." We had our house robbed a few years ago and all they do is say "all you have to do is wait, we may catch them." This is from my perspective.

I really hope you're ok, it seems you cant go anywhere in Glasgow without these halfwits trying to fight/intimidate/annoy you, I dont understand why they cant just get a grip of their lifes, stop roaming the streets at 24/25 years old with bottles of wine tryin to fight with people and just be normal. I used to get chased every weekend by bams and occasionally got in a tussle, I knopw its different for you 'cause you're a girl (I'm not trying to be sexist here lol) But normally if you just stand up to them and get them on their own they're all fairys and wont do anything. Seriously, I hope you're ok and just try and stay positive I guess. What part of Glasgow are you from?

I stay in the west end of Glasgow, Near Kelvingrove park. Not normally too bad an area but it was the St Enoch subway station that I got mugged in...Gah!

Now, I've another question. Those neds (KTR's episode), she told a Police Officer chased them away. But if he had arrested them... so: accusation, charge, defence... process... and all the rest... I mean, how many day/months would have they spent in jail???
If the answer is 1... 3... or no one, I just think this is the real problem!!!
i.e.: these "things"... "neds" know that it's not so dangerous to do what they do!!! I repeat, if it's so... all the World is the same... and everywhere there aren't good Laws!!! Always if, it's so...
Anyway, luckily they only scared Kiss, yeah and some bruise, nothing more grievous... fortunately!!! But, I'd give them 1 year, only 4 this!!! Maybe next time they think about...
Why, our societies have always to wait some tragedy, before 100% "working over"??? 8)

Although it may seem as simple as calling the cops, unfortunately its not really that easy! You tell the cops and the guys either dont get caught, or when they do get caught they only get a fine or let off. It's just so common in Glasgow today that it never seems to end no matter how many people these idiots stab, slash, beat up and even murder, and yez murder is becoming a LOT more common these days with these idiots running about with knifes fighting because of where they come from, its just so damn stupid. And you can hardly pick up a paper these days without seeing some good, law abiding family man being beaten or stabbed to death because he tries to stand up to these clowns to protect his family or move them from his house, and surprise surprise, the little cowards run off and get their big brother or dad or someone older (also a total idiot ned) and the good people in society end up getting hurt and nothings done about it. Theres been a huge campaign in Glasgow to try and end knife crime and yob culture but no matter how many more police they put on the streets and life sentences they give out, like I said, it just never seems to end.

But KTR (or anyone else citizen) has only to call for help... then, Policemen should give those dudes a good "old style" lesson!!!
Maybe, it won't be "Politically Correct"... but those guys don't just respect people!!!
What I think is that, it would need just all over a sorta "0 Tolerance"... yeah, like some years ago in New York, by Major Giuliani!!! Never been in Glasgow, but a lot of Cops+the right politics/campaign+some months...
Even if, yeah it's not a walk!!!

I agree with everyone else posting in this topic about all of this, I hope you're alright KTR, and in response to what a few said about giving these "thugs" an old fasion beating I agree with that but in the world of Law Enforcement today it isn't possible because of frivilous lawsuits and also the mentality of the justice system, it might not be the same over in England but in the U.S. it does not allow that kind of action but it would rather go along with the kissy, huggy, slap on the wrist and spend one night in jail kind of punishment that doesn't really solve the problem and like a few members stated it is growing and becoming more and more of a problem.

I'm a lot better now, not as stiff and sore but the thing is, yes it's very lucky that police officer came when he did and I don't want to even think about how beaten up I could have been but at the same time he looked startled and a bit confused. Like he was torn between helping me and chasing them.

I'm not sure what i'd rather he'd done because in terms of helping me he helped me up, checked I wasn't a total car crash and then drove me home while constantly asking if I wanted to report it which I didn't see the point in because I didn't get a good look at them and wouldn't have been any help.

I hate this whole Nanny state culture we're in. A Slap on the wrist is not going to stop people like that from attacking people again. It's pathetic!
