My early Christmas Gift

Post by irratebass »

Got the word last night that I am getting an early Chrstmas present tonight.

An English Bulldog!!!!!

He is 2 yrs old and a champion show dog at that (I don't care about that, but it's still cool), he is a brown and white Brindle.

He is 70lbs (which I think is quite heavy for a 2 year old), but I have 4 other dogs he can run and play with to lose that weight.

Will post pics later.

I am pretty excited and nervous, I have wanted a bulldog forever, and my wife tried to get me a puppy last year, but I refused it because we already had 4 dogs and we were living in a mobile home, I told her to wait till we had a house with a big back yard....well now I have that.

and he is FREE, his owner is moving and can't take him with her and wants to make sure he goes to a good home.

His name is Meatball, I didn't name him, but the name was too perfect, I had to keep it.

He is beautiful---really nice shaped head/face. Carries his weight well too.
I agree, Meatball is pretty good for him.
IS that a Basinji I see on the lower right??? I have always loved that breed.

I love English Bulls--my dad and I wanted one in the worst way-but my mom was a NO go, too expensive, so we had to settle for a Boston bull terrier. Not quite the same, but okay anyway. Smart as a whip.

My neighbors had a red and white EB call Peter Gunn--and he was wonderful, excellent disposition.

Glad you are coping with five now--are they all big??
Bulls may not be so tall, but they are so solid--that they can be considered big anyway.

I have a thing for those Whippet dogs. I like seeing them run and jump over stuff.

I have a dog that's half chihuahua and half doberman pinscer, so it's a really big and buff chihuahua, very cool.

But I likes my cats too.

I;m also fond of choosing the doggy out myself, but you got a new pooch, and a good looking one at that, more power to ya.'

that's a fine looking dog! i think the name is perfect, i wouldn't change it either! i don't have any dogs or cats anymore because i get too upset when they die, it's like losing a family member....

I hear that!! Though I won't give it up just yet.
But I am facing that too! My Doc horse is 23 this spring, and starting to really look/show his age. I brought him and put him with an old mare for lots of TLC this winter--just can't give him up just yet, even though I don't ride him, just let the grade school kids, and don't really make him chase cows anymore either, even though he loves it so.

And my son's schnauser is 13 next month--and he is going deaf, and not seeing as good as he used to. Really aged this last year---his main job was to raise my son and keep the spooks out of his room---did an excellent job,but now that kid is gone to college, and he doesn't have anyone to keep track of, he is sort of lost, and showing it. Won't be long I am afraid. :(
