I think it was from '81, with Stallone, Billy Dee Williams, and Rutger Hauer. Takes place in London and NYC. Interesting to see a different perspective on New York, but still close to the same time frame as the Warriors -- couple years later.
Stallone is in his badass prime, pre-Rambo. He and Billy Dee are cops assigned to track down Hauer the terrorist. You don't see it on TV too often, but it is available on DVD. Definitely worth checking out. Great story, great performances all around. Lots of profanity, so put the kids in the other room (although for some reason my parents took me to see it when I was 11).
Incidentally, Billy Dee plays a character named Fox.
