Ford Motor Company

Post by Rush2112 »

Anybody a fan?  I'm a Ford guy and I really like early seventies mavericks.  I also like Rancheros from that era, but my faverites are the 1967 Fairlanes.  Anybody else have some favs?

Had a 67 Fairlane for a while somewhere around 1970. It was a pretty sharpe car dark green 2 door with a 289 auto. Ended up selling it to my mom and movin up to a 65 GTO 389 4 speed. Man those were the days.

Have to admit I was more into chevys chevelles, 55-57s, novas, GTOs.

No bs, Just thought of this, went by a new small car lot this morn and remember seeing a green early 70s Maverick sitting there and I thought to myself theres a oldie you don't see around.

Yeah, I dont see many mavericks either.  They were just throw away cars like the neon.  My 67 Fairlane was yellow, had a 289 auto like yours, but mine was a convertible.  We just got rid of it, and bought this peice of crap 68 Fairlane off the internet.  We just had to buy a new radiator.  The worst thing about the car is the the frame is rusty.  I like Nova's and Chevelles too, but I always see them.  Whatever show I go to, or whatever classified I look at there always there.  But I still like them though.

Yeah, I tell ya there ain't enough talk about cars.
My Grandfather used to work at the old Dagenham factory in the UK, that place was massive.

You know, UK fords and American fords are completly differnt breeds. You had the Mustang and we had the Escort Mk2 RS models, not forgetting the awesome Cosworth that I belive you were denied.....as Cosworth is British (that should go in the British Institutions topic)

Of course how could I forget that the GT40 was designed by a Brit too, LOL.
Anyway yes, of course being the founder the automotive essebly line, Ford is indeed an awesome manufacturer........except they keep buying other companies that they cannot afford.

I like UK Fors too.  I tell you what though, instead of some cheesy Escort, I rather drive my Crownvic Wagon anyday.  Man that thing was cool lokking.  I wish I still had that car.

I have to say man I really dont like the whole "ricer" thing (Not trying to be mean or anything)  When I bought need for speed two, I took a mustang and tried to give it a muscle car feel from that game witch is kinda hard since its a compact car game.  Anyways, My fav. mustang would have to be the Mustang II.
