I always thougt they were a gang when I was little. After I saw the Warriors, I saw these guys and thought they were cool because they had their "gang" outfit. They would ride on subways and everything, I never new they were a protective service until later in my young life!

Yeah, i know these guys. They got a big break when Mayor Bloomberg basically endorsed em. They  are very brave, im surpirsed they werent in the warriors!

I'll admit I don't know a lot about these guys but you gotta give em credit for standin up and tryin to make a difference in this piece of crap world.

I've seen Mr Sliwa a number of times on tv and kinda feel bad now that I think about it. They've been fightin the fight for a lot of years and should get more respect than they have.
Will check this site out.

Very true. As a matter of fact, I posted this topic because I hadn't heard anything about them anymore and of course I found their website. I do remember they were more popular back then with all the violence in New York City. I guess every since New York has changed into this gigatic mosque, their rep has diminished a lot. I do miss the old New York. To me the old N.Y. offered movie makers more ideas to film about, now the clean N.Y. just doesn't do much. I mean I am glad its safer for its residents, but I don't want to walk into what looks like Disneyworld, I wan the Taxi Driver New York City!!!
