i dont know if any of you guys have heard this on the news, but north korea was doing some illegal nuclear test, which leads some people to bealive that a new war MIGHT begin with north korea and the united states. President bush was talking about this in the morning, but i was very sleppy, and didnt understand what he was saying. Sorry if i dont have more info.

I wouldn't worry about there being any war. The U.N. will impose sanctions on North Korea and that will be it. Bush himself has said the US has no plans to invade North Korea. All he really did was reitterate what has been a long standing US policy that "Any attack by North Korea against Japan or South Korea will be considered an attack against the United States."

The US has been committed to the defense of South Korea by any means, including the use of low yield tactical nuclear weapons since the end of the Korean War. If Kim Jong ll's million man army were to cross the border into South Korea, they would be anihilated. If he used a nuclear weapon against the south or Japan, his country would be anihilated. I really can't say what his reasoning for posessing nuclear weapons is, aside from the fact that he is completely nuts. He may think that this will give him new bargaining power for foreign aid, although the exact opposite will happen. Maybe he feels this will be a deterrent against a US invasion, although the US has no plans to invade. 

Like Marlboro projects said, no chance of an actual war. North Korea has South Korea, Japan, China and the USA to worry about, they wont risk pulling anything. North Korea is like the kid with ADD who always wants attention, but they're not gonna risk shooting a missle at south korea, they know they'd make too many enemies.

i heard that North korea said they will take any U.N sanctions as a direct threat of war and will defend itself with any force necessary
but i think its a hollow threat

if they start a war they will most likley loose, we have a lot of allies. and were more advanced with weapons and technology
