CAR THREAD

Post by warlord jp »

Well since im into cars, and im currently taking auto mechanic classes, i decided to make a topic about cars. Im intrested to know what type of cars do you guys own. I currently own a 2001 stratus. I know im only 15, but i already have a car. I dont go out  with it too much, because im barley learning how to drive. i only take it to quick places like to rent movies. So what about you guys?

I have a '93 Honda Civic too. Minus the lime green and trimmings though... The newest bit of kit I bought for mine was a 'Baby On Board' sign for the back window .

Used to own a Pug 205 that was all done up nice. I LOVED that little car...

Gotta tell you guys, and this might be more a function of my age (30), but I don't give a rat's butt about cars.  I look at cars the way I look at a shoe.  If I use it, it's going to get dirty, scratched, beat up, and eventually worn out.

Fast cars, and especially the street racing that goes along with them are dumb, dangerous, and disrespectful to the people on the road.

I buy all my cars gently used because WHY would anyone spend the extra cash on a NEW car when you can get last year's model for 15-30% below sticker price?

How did I arrive at this sage stage in my life?  Way more car accidents than anyone should have.  When I was a teenager, heck, when ANYONE is a teenager, they are by default a total dumb-ass that takes dumb-ass risks, and doesn't think about the people on the road with them...like a dumb-ass.

Nothing gives you a fast lesson on empathy like plowing into the back of a nice old lady's car.  (no-one hurt thankfully)

How did I get so old so quick?

The only...ONLY exception is if someone wanted to pick up a classic car.  Like say a powder blue 57 chevy with CHROME for miles.  You wouldn't want to even race a car like that.  It's just too dang pretty.

Of course, I drive a Piaggio Aprillia Mojito Custom scooter everyday to work, so maybe I'm not the person to get into a car discussion.

I was given the Civic by my Aunt and Uncle just before they moved back to Canada. And seeing as I had little Ruby coming along it made sense to sell the littler car. Thing is, I had to sell it at a reduced price to one of my Dad's mates... who is extremely fat.

I see it being driven around sometimes looking like it's gonna collapse at any minute...

"aww, poor Pug" I think.  :(
