Also i think people shouldn't use it just because you have a vendetta against an individual.

So please don't continue to give negative karma just because you had an argument with another member a few weeks ago.

I like the idea of karma, but I hope it won't cause arguments like I've seen on other forums. I do like how we have to have one hundred posts since that means people can't just lurk and randomly take away karma.

We have changed it to 250 posts for all members so you will be able to soon. ;)

Some people don't use it in the correct way and hold grudges.

Once you make it to Warrior rank you will probably respect the way things are run on the site and the work that goes into it :D

Sounds like a brilliant idea! Though, I am not too close to a Warrior rank, I think it should be well deserving. It's great that those who seem yet a little immature won't be able to use the Karma privilege inappropriately.  :D =D>

hola..

i just realized that my karma has gone from 2 to 1 today.. i may view this differently than any one of you but i will share it anyway.. this karma thing has gotten out of hand - what is the sole purpose for behind this WarChief? this isn't eBay (for those who didn't know, it's an auction site) where people can post 'feedback' because the seller/buyer is to be trusted and had a good transaction..

this is a forum where all topics can be anything, good or bad.. it's the part of posting in here. i expect all forums to have ups and downs, veterans and newbies making good/bad posts.. if someone has something to say, they speak up.. whether it's interesting or annoying. it's part of reading.. if you don't like/interest you, skip it to the next better topic or wait/create a new topic.. i just find it kind of sad for those who retort to use the karma thing to make judgements on people's posts or abuse it or just to make fun of it to spoil things around...

all i can say is to propose WarChief to suspend the karma thing, not because i feel p!ssed about deducting 1 karma point on my account, but to keep others focused on the poster's posts, not their karma rating.. this is like the same thing i feel for dealing with bidders in eBay who have 0 feedbacks - they are useless to me, but they can be 50-50% chance of them being good buyers.. besides, if the moderators in this forum can delete the topics - what's the purpose for using karma for?

this is just another boring rant i shared with you all - if this does not interests you.. don't.  :doubt: anyway, hope everyone here had a great long 4-day weekend..

i agree with some of what JoePal is saying.  There is a bit of a "popularity" contest feel to it, in my opinion. but i'm used to not being popular

Not popular you have 3 in karma! It's nerds like me who have 1 :D

I agree with JoePal as well, I think it might have a bit of a negative effect on the forum and turn it into the above mentioned popularity contest.
SUPER HAPPY PINEAPPLE MAN!

The whole idea was to generally just improve the quality of posts. I think people who have the rights (even those above 250) may be giving it out too often. I propose that you may only give one piece of karma a day than one piece an hour. This might help solve it.

I can see the pros and cons of karma, but I thought unless we try it, we'd never know. I think it is still early days and I'll try refining it before we chuck it in!
The one and only!
