Yeah Kartoon, I think you meant The Saracens Motorcycle Club from Maine... this one?
http://www.smcinc.org/home.htm

Anyway after your post I searched 4 them (but some link problem when I found out their logo) and I also found out a lot of Saracens groups... well Rugby Teams to be correct, and every team logo relates to Saracens (or Arabian Groups) symbols: Swords, a sorta helmet and the half-moon (or a quarter of) and 1 star, even if the moon and 1 star are from Turkish Flag (Saracens were also in Turkey).
So:

Watford Rugby Team - England

Bristol Rugby Team - England

Toronto Rugby Team - Canada

Winnipeg Rugby Team - Canada

... and a lot of other "Saracens" links... http://www.google.it/search?q=saracens& ... rt=10&sa=N

See ya guys!!! 8)

Interesting topic.  I am gonna have to say that Walter Hill Perhaps wanted a sense of realism, by adding a tribal feeling to the gangs names.  For instance rather than naming all of them names such as "Monsters, demons, or the evil doers:, he chose carefully to give them ancient tribal names.  After all, look at what the movie is based on.  It does suit it very well.

Yeah, I know it, by James Mannion... when you talked about Saracens in Sicily, just this book came to mind!!!
Anyway, even if the topic is on The Saracens, I'd like to advise you another Mafia book... "Mafia Dynasty" by John H. Davis.  http://www.namebase.org/sources/aV.html
