About 8mm (I think you mean the fabolous "BOBBIN"), well my parents wedding was filmed in Super 8, like 8mm. During last years I've turned it in videotape and dvd, and anyway I also think dvd is the best size/format of all (so also the best invention about movie/cinema stuff) .Scurvy Dog wrote:You know what I remember? Also, walking uphill to school both ways in a foot of snow with an onion tied to my belt (it was the style of the day), and eating rocks for lunch - if we could afford it. If not, we had to eat dirt, if we could find someone to give some to us.
I wasn't kidding about the first one. We really did rent silent 8mm movies. I prefer DVDs.
But that size (8mm) is, I think, the most "poetic" of all... I mean, to watch a "movie" with a lot of film little "errors" (I don't know exact technical name, I think something like "snow" or "fog") is too cool!!!
Plus, my parents "honey moon" was in New York. So, do you imagine 1974 New York, I mean those stills from that Super 8? The people, the faces, the cars, hair, that fashion style, same (I've checked!) "The Warriors" NYPD cars... and so on... so yeah dvd is better, I agree, but I do prefer still watch that wedding "movie" by a movie projector!!! 8)
