Movie Prequel

I think if they ever did make a prequel, it would have to be like the flashback missions, and the first ~14 levels of the game. I think if they tried to recreate the origins outside of the game it wouldn't be as cool, the game set up a great origin story, and showed why the Warriors were the way they were.

I like the idea of a prequel, but the only way I'd watch it is with the original cast. They're too old to do it now which sucks, but it would have been pretty cool to watch if they had filmed one in the 80's.

My vote to a movie prequel is: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!
I'd love to see how Cyrus came to power and how he organized the conclave.
At the same time, how and why luther (even if he would only be a puppet), or someone else powerful, really decided (not only cause he likes to do things like that) to kill Cyrus... I mean some "Gang Power Partition" reason (4 istance Masai... who knows?), or some Mafious reason... etc...
I'd also want to see something about The Warriors, but unlike the game... I did't just like that story, Cleon from the destroyer... etc... naah!!!!
Maybe something about why The Riffs invited The Warriors to the conclave.
I've always thought Cyrus and Cleon already were good friends!!! 8)

At this point, and only following my personal "Masai betrayal theory", they could also make the sequel...
Yeah, The Warriors "let the cat out of the bag" (How? I wouldn't know), so go again to The Bronx and try to stop/kill Masai.
The Riffs trust in him and... another damn come back Coney night!!!
But, the morning after all the other gangs will help The Warriors. Why? Cause there's a new witness... he saw Masai and luther few hours before the conclave......
Well... IMO!!! 8)

By the way, in order to me a remake wouldn't just work!!! 8)

I have always thought of the Wanderers as the prequel to the Warriors. After the dust cleared from the Ducky Boys brawl the hardcore Wanderers and Del Bombers became allies and formed the multi racial Warriors. The Fordham Baldies who survived the war came back and formed the TurnbullsACs. The Wongs formed The Savage Huns. The pimps and mau maus became the boppers. Some of the beaten Ducky boys formed the Orphans while, the warlords of the Duckys later formed the Punks. The handicaped bowlers picked up some bats to get revenge on Chubby Galasso and started the Furies. The Executioners later became the Rouges.

kowolski you know what? The Warriors are The Warriors. But I've to say that you do just have a great imagination. I mean, your theory is anyway interesting!!!

Both were NY gangs, HHmmm.  Here is another part of the story. Emilio the mean father in the Wanderers, gets remarried and has another kid that he beats up on all the time. This kid grows up to be known as Luther. The End. I wll have to go back and watch the Wanderers again too see if I can come up with a Riffs ,Cyrus,Lizzes angle.

kowolski you know what? Why don't you write a story (Fan Fiction Section)?
I mean, as you know, there's no link between The Warriors and The Wanderers... but your imagination... a fan fiction story... why not? 8)

Over the years I've thought about sequels and prequels, and came to the conclusion that THE WARRIORS is better off standing alone.  If you want more, I'd suggest reading Sol Yurick's 1965 novel (that's been re-released a few years ago) as it gives a little bit different take on the story than the film does.

Yak, my friend, I read the Novel (old and new version, even if they are the same apart 2003 Sol Yurick new introduction)... remember that here, maybe most of us have already read it.
We're talking here about a Movie Prequel, not cause we want more (IMO)... but cause it's a funny idea.
To me The Warriors is better off standing alone, too.

Since the film started essentially from scratch, wouldn't it be great if there was a pre-quel to The Warriors? I mean, the game did come up with some interesting scenarios on how each member came to join, and how Cleon & Vermin started it all. Also, whatever back story moviemakers would ultimately come up with would work. The movie is nothing like the book, and even the book didn't have any clear origin of any of the gang members. Does anybody  have any suggestions? I'd like to hear them.

Well, YES! It's good to see how Cleon and Vermin started it all. Movie would cost more money, but when you think like a director, it's stupid. It's ok in first scene in the movie how Warriors going to the conclave like every gang. But movie would be better if they put deleted scenes in the movie. You see where they lived, they turf, and also what they talking about Cyrus and the conclave or gangs.
