I agree - that that reddish brown is too over the top - however, i wonder if you really "dirty it up" (stains, oils, soaking...) if it just might get an interesting effect

I suppose the colour is fitting, being that its a replica of the game vest and not the movie.  The casual fan wouldn't know the difference.
I prefer the dark tan colour of the standard movie replicas.
Got to give kudos to the size of the flaming snake patch on that vest.  Credit where credit is due.

If you look at any of the so called "screen worn" vests, NONE of them are the reddish brown color. I want a color the same as the golden closet color and here and there vintage and oil it. I almost have my warbird dirty and vintaged the same as golden closet's. Got the piping down and waiting on the right rocker. I hear rumblings *cough* someone *cough might be making the correct color vests.

It's not me, but someone who makes replicas. Don't know if he has HK connects, but it is not me. I'm sticking to the piping. The vests would be too exspensive of an investment.

I personally like the reddish brown color and yes I know the color of these vests has been debated.  IMO I think whatever color makes u happy.
