how about book to film adaptations for a talking point?
obviously we have the warriors as big point here and weve seen a fair deal of debate on the subject.
i am just about to watch the final cut of blade runner after reading Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep by Philip K Dick ( whos books have been adapted to minority report, total recall, a scanner darkly) so this'll be interesting...

Re: Book to Movie Adaptations
finally got round to seeing blade runner properly.
as i expected, much like the warriors, the film seems to be "inspired by" the book more than anything. theyre very different but needless to say i loved the film though i found myself rooting for Batty cus Hauer is so awesome in the film!!
also noticed how influential this movie was on anime sci fi stuff like ghost in the shell/akira

Re: Book to Movie Adaptations
William Gibson's 'Neuromancer' had a huge influance on franchises like Shadowrun
and The Matrix, as well as the film Johnny Mnemonic. Finally they are making a
movie directly based on the book.
Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness' and 'Apocalypse Now' is a great example.

Re: Book to Movie Adaptations
I like to see a good book to movie adaptation, as long as they do a proper job. One of the worst adaptations was definitely Stephen King's 'It'. I've heard they are thinking of doing the remake now. Although I'm not a big fan of remakes, nothing they make can be worst than the 1st one.
