If you're ANOES fan, don't! Some of my mates went to see it the other day (despite my warnings, lol). They say the film is a disaster; apparently, the only thing worse than the story is the mask Jackie Earle Haley is wearing. The only good thing is there were another 3-4 guys in the cinemas besides my mates, so not a lot of people have seen an attempt of destruction of what Wes Craven with Robert Englund and the rest of the crew were building through the years.
The fact that you're telling us what they said, I can assume you haven't seen the movie. If you haven't seen it, why were you warning them? No offense meant of course, I just think it's silly that you're making judgments about a film you haven't even seen.

Also, Freddy's mask? He actually looks more like a burn victim if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, I love Robert Englund and the original Freddy, but he looks like somebody just dumped him in a deep fryer.

It's KFK, Kentucky-Fried Krueger! Instead of stalking your dreams, he kills you by clogging your arteries!

Okay, I'll shut up now.

That's it's gimmick - it's said to be a prequel of sorts...
I prefered Prince Of Thieves, but neither are as good as Walt Disney's Robin Hood. "Spiders snakes and lizards heads, if i tell a tail i'll die till i'm dead"  8)

No, I haven't seen the movie, I warned them mostly because of my anti-remakes stand. I've managed to read the story of the new film before it came out, and didn't like it. Also, I did see trailers for the film, wasn't too impressed with them either. The mask looks like on of those cheap rubber masks you can get on Ebay for a tenner, no expressions, and the voice of Freddy just doesn't sound convincing.
I'm sure there are few good moments in the film, but I think that ANOES fans deserve better than this.

You're right, ANOES 2 was the weakest sequel in the series, I didn't like it either.

And it doesn't make sense either. The only good part of that film was during the party scene, when Freddy burst out of the ground like the BAMF he is.

I always liked the exploding budgie part as a kid.
