The boys

Post by Lion »

What's up guys?! Hey Padlock, the 3 in the center are the originals and the purple and grey are customed made by me. Right now, I am working on the blue face and blue/orange face as well. I already have the blue face, but that's an original and is still in the box, I don't want to take him out, so I'll just copy him. I built airplane models from World War 2 and I have all these paintings, brushes, drills,...what have you, so I said; 'what the hell', I'll just make my own in case Mezco don't give us anymore Furies. The custom made have Puma and Nike written on the back of their shoes and I stuck a tiny piece of gum on the bottom of the purple face shoe just to make it somewhat real. The shoes are different just to glorify my favorite tennis shoes brands Puma, Nike, and Adidas. The grey face has black outline around his eye and mouth just like in the movie.

Hey Kartoon!, you are my brother and I dedicate the 2 to you.

The boys part 2

Post by Lion »

Thanks guys, Gonz, you can steal the idea brother. I wanted to show everyone more or less what those 2 Furies might look like. Hey Swift Eye, it isn't difficult, I have paintings and all that crap. I use Testors paints or any model paintings will do, those are just the best, use enamel though, flat colors, I ran out of mine so I used the ones that have gloss, but a little tab of alcohol and it takes the gloss away, just wait until the paint is real dry. I paint them by hand and for that I used a Testor /uk/ 8732 paint brush, which has avery fine, sharp point brush. To open their jerseys a bit I used a Dremel MultiPro Drill model 285, just don't drill to deep 'cause the figures aren't that thick. Use a 1/4" sander mandrel w/ a 1/4" sanding band (60 Grit). You can actually find drills and accesories in box sets and it tells you the sizes of all the sand bands. It isn't as hard as it looks. :) [/quote]

I actually wouldn't sell them. Mezco owns the rights so I couldn't sell them even if I wanted to. They are just for my private collection. I would wait and see if a 2nd wave of Furies comes out and if it doesn't, I would be more than happy to do some for you for free. All you would do is send me the figure and I'll meet you half ways with the S&H. But you would be my first in line. :D

the grey face.. is that supposed to be green? also purple would look better if it's a bit lighter..

i am customizing mine also! i got 6 furies to spare for customs.. pics will be up later..

did you know the blue/orange fury has some black spots under the nose and on the chin?

enamel paint? hmm.. i do not want the glossy look.. just basic flat paint.. i'm testing the other paints but i probably will use testors..

good job on the custom, lions..

Excellent job LIONS, I have thought about doing the same thing, but right now I am determined to score a blue Fury, before I spend cash on extra Furies to customize. Again, from one customizer to another, excellent clean work!
