I keep hearing the hype about this show (now cancelled I hear). I've not seen it but it does intrigue me. Can someone who has seen it please let me know what it's like and if it is worth seeing. Cheers.

Ohhhhh... HBO's big disapointment...

The openning is great, really something. But that's it.
In the story, there are two main characters, this young guy that has the power to cure people, and this priest that has the power to read minds, or something like that.
One is suposed to be good, and the other is suposed to be evil, the show ended and they never told us which was which. The young guys works at the circus...
Sorry, can't remember anymore.

Brother,That show was nothing but HYPE..
Why do you think,it got cancelled after 3 seasons.
It was suppose to have been the show to replace Sex and The City, after it left the air,
But Trust me,I tried watching it,and it did not even peak my intrest.. And How HBO kept trying to force-feed us that show..
That's all it was HYPE!!!!!
Sex and The City was the better show :D

Back up. No Way that Sarah Jessicrap is better than Carnivale. I will give you that it's not for everybody, but, it has some very intense moments and a battle between good and evil where both take hits. Come on. It can be great at times. So WC, I'd give it a try if you can.

Funny I was warned about, you being very confrontational.. 8)
I respect your opinion in everyway..emissary. But you can't call a hit show Crap?
Besides there are Ladies here who will take my side in that case :D
As for that "No Way that Sarah Jessicrap is better than Carnivale"
Let's look at the facts...
Image
I'll say this much too you,Sex and the City was on for 6 Seasons, and the show is in Syndication right now,on local networks as well as cable!!!
And it does not take a Genius to know, that The Battle for Good and Evil was pulled after
3 seasons,with no syndication intrest..
Image
Sorry for shooting holes into your argument
Image
I hope I did not upset you, after all..We are all friends here, and I still luv ya!!!
And In the end,we will let The Warchief decide

Are you going to go by the critics? Do you know what critics say about the Warriors? The Carnivale storyline ran its course. It needed to go no further. How many shows went too far because of nostalgia? I don't really care that much. I don't own the DVD set nor do I want it. But that Sarah Jessicrap is going too far. Its popular. No doubt, but so is a lot of junk out there that's not worth fighting over. Funny though, almost 1700 posts between us and no prior battles. (Come on V76-You have to back me on this one.)

Hey Em... Sorry but I still think I'm right about this one, critics aside, I was really looking forward to this show when HBOBrazil first announced. And I really made an effort to like the show ( I love shows that have supernatural stuff ). But to me, it just wasn't as interesting as it could be. If I have to make an effort to like a tv show that I'm watching week after week, it can't be that good. After a while I just gave up.

Fair enough. I only saw each episode once. After that I didn't care, but I was interested in what was next. A good moment is when Hawkins saves Jonesy from death and cures his leg disability.

PS I should probably share with everybody that I picked up the "....crap" routine from my wife who had it when we met 8 years ago. Anything she didn't like she said part of the name and added crap at the end. For example: "Dawson's Crap" So if you're a big fan of SITC, please take no offense. Another one she said all the time to make fun of me was "Jean Luc Pi-crap"

Let's not drag Vermin76 into this, this is between me and you :D
It seems to me that your angry about something else, emissary
and with my comment, I simply provoked you?
That was not my intention..
But why would you even bring something like this up
" almost 1700 posts between us and no prior battles. "
I'm not one trying to look for a battle Let alone start one,but do not mistake my words for weakness,
To your previous comment all I have to say is
"Every battle is won, before it's fought"

Where to start? I mentioned Vermin76 because I thought he would be on my side of the debate of these two shows.(And I needed to make peace with him) I wasn't trying to drag anybody into anything. I am not angry with you. Or anybody else. I think my posts mostly show a genuine politeness and respect. Out of 600, I've had maybe 20 of the confrontational nature. I don't think you're weak but what are we talking about here? After all, we were brought together by a movie we both care a lot about. The irony there, is that it's a movie about a city of guys running after each other with bats and knives.(fairly confrontational) I argue with people I care for all the time. Like if my brother said Carnivale was terrible and SATC was great I would tell him the exact same thing. Its not that I'm targeting you. I have always respected your posts and know that we have comparable knowledge of Cyrus and the boys. So, in conclusion, I don't want to fight with you, I just don't like one show that you like and vice-versa.
