Everyone has their own opinion about this new one coming out, and I am sure that almost everyone on this forum who truly respects the original doesn't like the idea of the new one! I don't like the idea of it, because personally I think that it's gonna ruin what the original is known for, because people who have never seen it before, and watch the new one, are just going to think that's it. And as bobo the warrior said, they're not trying to respect the classic, they're just in it for the money.

exactly! That is what I am saying. Nobody has even seen the movie. It might come out and be a great movie, or it might come out and suck. It is a remake, and that is what it is going to always be.

I bet most people who see this remake wont even know there was a movie made in the 70's. Just like the game. People were coming up to me saying "That Warriors game looks good" then I'd say "Have you seen the movie" then they say "What movie?". It'll be the same way with this remake. And thats injustice!

Again, a true remake follows the original script closely with the same storyline and characters plus most of the scenes.  The remake can go farther out there but must be heavy in the basics of the original.  A movie with the same title and general premise with 1 or 2 characters the same ain't a remake.  That's like saying most vampire movies are "remakes" of Dracula- 1932 when they're just cheezy crap flicks.

I think I can understand why people are so heated about this remake.

For the last several years we have seen diractors milking other people's ideas and creativty,  for suposedly "Better" remakes.  However saying that, they do often change key parts which doesn't often go down with fans of the oringal.

Without any of the uniqe fetures the Warriors had, like the customes it turns into another gang movie.  By the sounds of it, the remake is going to be really generic.

Usually, I would say not do judge anything until you have seen it/played it, however, this time I would make an expection on the bases that in gallery of remakes that have been done, only a few are peices of art.

The only types of remakes I like are games ones, they usually don't change much.

Why would any one want the warriors remade. Who cares who the director is. The warriors is one of te greatest movies ever made and it should not be remade. I mean they are from coney now let me guess they are going to be from a junkyard now or something. Why take a title and the story but, change everything else it just isnt right!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my two cents...
has a Led-Zeppelin cover ever been good? No. Why not? Because when they cover it, it takes away everything that made the song magic. IE - the friggin' band members, who were the most talented individuals at the time (and probably still today).

Now, The Warriors is the single greatest movie of all time, and what made it great was the times for one thing. It fit the times. Another thing, the gritty off-beat feeling of it, it was unlike every other movie out at the time, people weren't used to that gritty undertone, so of course it was a hit, it was something different. It went against the grain. Walter Hill was an awesome film-maker, had some really great, original ideas. Come on dude, how often are actors as good as Michael Beck, James Remar, and David Patrick Kelly found? The fight scenes were stylized, but still real, they fought like street youths ought to. Now, I'm actually from the ghetto, and fighting ain't what it used to be, no one knows how to do it. So now, take all of that awesome away, throw in a mediocre director, a crappy studio (MTV) and we all know the studio controls everything, and gang members that only know how to fight by shooting and stabbing, then running like pansies, and where does that leave us? With a weird story full of Matrix moves, that's got a manufactured plot that fits in with currents trends and rap music, and that my friends, is a piece of crap movie.

Yeah, that's right, I'm saying DOG this piece of trash all ya want, cuz it's gonna blow.

Oh come on! Please dont tell me you made a whole new account just so you could could have one person to back you up(that person being yourself) .Accept the fact that we HAVE to dog this remake. Its just not right to ruin a classic just because you cant think of your own movie, song whatever it may be. So I say DOG IT!
