Unfortunatly they have a big fence now right in front of it making taking a picture difficult. The Astroland area (where the sign is) is closed off for the winter. I will post some pictures soon however.

They had this show on (the Discovery Channel? Travel channel?) about the history of Coney Island. I watched to see if they'd mention the movie. When they got to the 70s era they were talking about how the area was becoming overrun by gangs and all this, then they did a closeup of a wall with grafitti on it, and I swear that smack in the middle was--the Warriors tag. hmmm.... :?:

Over time a lot of the sites closed down, it's not the Wonderland it used to be in the early 1900s or even the '50s, but according to the documentary, up and coming thespians are using the area for vaudeville acts and such now. Can anybody confirm?

Coney island to me ...is a State of Mind..
My fellow Warriors..
What People see as old,I see as new..Memory's are what feed this place, like the hot-dogs and burgers, and cotton-candy
Even when you watch the movie,it's also creates for you a state of mind,escapism..adventure,allyou have to do is think of the movie, that charges up your imagination, and you are suddenly transported back there..
And with a group of friend,it comes to life..I know that If any of you were to ever come here anytime soon,I would love to show you the sights..

When i was in Coney i pictured The Warriors walking down The Bowery and boardwalk etc. It was so cool. Will be back there one day hopefully meet up with some other Warriors.

Amen to that brother! I would love to view the high-rise projects from the wonderwheel, or feel the chemical infested air in face from the cars of the Cyclone. I would love to to down a Nathans original hot dog on a sunny day or walk the glass-infested beaches. Oh yes, perhaps one day I will run down the boardwalk despertaly trying to find Stauch Baths, only to find some greasy eatery. Yes, Coney sounds great.

Sorry for sounding like a tool there LOL
And no im not being sarcastic, i would love Coney.

It's not very big so you could walk round all of it in an hour and a half i guess.

Make sure you get some photos :D
