Great read and find, thanks War Chief.
I think the "uk" in the link is the problem. Try this:

Oh man, oh man, this is tight. I like how they call Luther, "Crazy Luther", I like this one better, 'cause after all, he was crazy. Man, we even get metioned on this, the conclave is going to be a big item. I didn't know about the "Bikers Gang" that took the same trail 4 years ago, I would of loved to have seen this. Great article.

Re: 9 Page Review
Great article. Sounds like the guy who wrote it is really a fan.
I just had one issue with this article:
"Hill has never been one to look back. He's very much like a protagonist in a fighting game; he just keeps charging forward. "I'm a fella who likes to keep pointed ahead," Hill says. "You do something, you do everything you can to make it as good as you can do it, then it's done and you move on. That's what keeps you going."
If that's true, Walter, why oh why did you feel the need to go back and make that stupid director's edition?

Re: 9 Page Review
I'm always interested about reading how the public reacted to the Warriors during it's original release in 1979. I always like to read about how the film was recieved by the media, the audiences, and the critics and hear stories like the protests people staged and how the actors were looked on as heroes by the youth. It's a shame that there were murders connected to the film that caused it to be pulled, but I'm more interested in how the general public kind of over-react to what can be called easy targets for blaming violence on. How can they blame gang violence on the Warriors when it was rampant in the streets long before the film was even made?
The same can be said today with youth violence and the media in general, but if you look back you can see that it has escaladed gradually over time and the media just reflects that. Anything you see in a movie or video game is something from underground culture that has been around for some time and by the time the media gets a hold of it and brings it to the mainstream something new has already started that makes it look old and dated.
I hope that someone writes a book about the Warriors phenomenon that chronicles the movie from pre-production, during it's filming, when it was first released, how it gained cult status, it's influence in music and movies, to it's revival now with the video game and rerelease on DVD with fans feeling let down by Walter Hill's director's cut.

Re: 9 Page Review
guess i should read better....i did just skim it, im glad to see us on it
Indeed, the film has been kept alive through diehard fans. For example, the official Warriors fan site (which oddly enough is headquartered in the UK) is working on Conclave '09, a special event that will mark the 30-year anniversary of the film. Conclave '09 was conceived as a sort of Star-Trek-convention-meets-Civil-War-reenactment. Its organizers plan to invite fans of the film, as well as cast and crew members, to a "peaceful meeting" in New York. There, they will follow The Warriors' journey from the city to Coney Island, according to the Web site.
