Anyone here live near Little Italy (Manhattan)?

Post by Scurvy Dog »

Hey gang.

As some of you know, I occasionally get to NYC to visit family. On one trip there, we stopped in Little Italy for supper and cannollis.

Anyway, if any of you live near there or get there often enough, I'd like to know the name of the place we ate at. It's on Mulberry Street, directly across from Vinny's Nut House (it's a peanut wagon). I remember Vinny's because I took a picture (amused by the name). The restaurant has several outdoor tables. I think they were silver.

Also, further up the street was a pastry shop where we had a few cannollis. It was called something like La Bella Ferrara, or something like that, but I can't remember for sure. It looked like they made everything in the basement and brought it upstairs to the shop. I'd like to see if I can have some cannollis sent here FedEx so some of my friends and family know what I'm talking about when I tell them about cannollis. There is nothing here that even compares to them.

Thanks in advance.

My family took a trip up there last summer. I ate at all those places, and I even got a picture of Vinny's Nut House. We stayed there for supper aswell, and we were at a nice resturaunt too, but I have so much trouble remembering these things. I know alot things about New York now, thanks to my Great Godfather Rocky, a 61 year old Italian, who is in better shape than me.. ofcourse, he was in really good shape though. Anyway, he told us about EVERYTHING. We were there for about a week, and I swear we saw everything you could imagine. We were in New Jersey most of the time, but we went to The Bronx, Brooklin (Not Coney :(), Chinatown, Little Italy, Manhatten, you name it. I was upset we didn't get to Soho though, because I love artists and artistic things, and apparently thats where alot of artists dwell. Unfortunatley, I don't having any Warrior scene pictures, because I saw the movie three weeks after I got home, and I was outraged when I found out it took place in New York, and I hadn't gotten any pictures of the movie setting.

Was the place on a corner as i had meat balls from a nice place in Little Italy.

It's sad to think that only one street still exists that is still Italian owned. The rest has been swallowed up by Chinatown.  Chinatown is a cool place also mind you :D

Here is some holiday snaps from when i went last year!
