warrior nick names

how come all our heroes had nick names(fox,swan,ajax etc etc)yet the leader of the gang was called cleon(or is cleon some kind of nick name)

CAN YOU DIG ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His real name was probably Leon but since he lives in Coney

in uh,one of those books thats based on the warriors(i think its anabis or somethin like that)the name cleon was twisted from the character clearchus in the book.

Actually Cleon is as much a real name in its own right as Leon or
LeRoy and LeRon, Bubba etc etc--I don't think it was a nickname--I think it was a real name,
and if it was a nickname---remember it was the 70's and some of black population was looking back on it's roots---and they were renaming themselves both with African names and with old Slave type names--so it could have been something like that too. But that is just an idea to throw out.

I knew of a guy named Alfalfa before too-for real--not in the Little RAscals.
