Are there only 9 Warriors?

In the begging scene when Cleon gives his opening speech he says that out of 120 delagates you were chosen and that makes you special. I just assumed he meant that they the gang were chosen to go because not all the gangs were invited like the Orphans. But doesn't Cyrus say a different number than Cleon. Plus if there were more Warriors they would have been at Coney at the end to help the others. I pretty sure there are only 9 of them but this always bugged me. Let me know what you guys think.

Only 9 guys would mean that they wouldnt last too long against other gangs. Had to be more.

Just like Luther checking in with the rest of the gang after the meeting.

If there were more Warriors how come they weren't at Coney when the others got back. I think the Warriors are just a small gang like the Baseball Furies and Punks.

There are more! They where critising the Orphans for only having 30 members. And when they get back Swan says "This is what we......." so hes pissed off cos theres no welcome back.

Blax do you remember what the exact line was that was said when critising the Orphans numbers

Even if there were more Warriors the other 8 that Cleon chose must have been close with him for him to have picked them.

I think there were more but I think Cyrus just didn't want too many guys walking around.

If atleast 20 guys from a gang are walking around one is atleast going to start trouble.

In the movie Swan asked Fox if he recognized who they were, to which Fox replies with something like:

Fox:"Orphans, so far down on the map, they're not even on it, real low class."
Swan: "Numbers"
Fox: "Full strength maybe 30."
Vermin: "30 is a lot more than 8."
Ajax: "Not if they're wimps, and I'm sick of this running crap!"

It was not a criticism of numbers, but rather that they were not in the same "social stratification."

OK thanks I'm still trying to figure out how many Warriors there are. When Cleon talks at the beginning he says something about of of a number of affiliates you were chosen and that makes you special. I'm not sure if he meant that they were chosen out of the gangs by Cyrus to go or that he chose them out of all the Warriors to go.

I allways wondered if Cleon was the very top guy in the whole of the gang?

I would assume Cleon is the top leader. Wouldn't all the gangs bring their leaders to the meeting. If he's not the main leader then he's probley the second in command sent to chose a group to go to the meeting. I always just assumed they were a small gang like the Furies. Not all gangs need to have alot of members to be effective.

From what i remember, in the deleted opening scene. Cleon tells the Warriors why they were chosen for the expedition to the Bronx, and he also states that they were chosen out of 120+ affiliates. So theres definately more than 9.

I have to believe that Cleon is #1. It's a fundamental element to me. You know something, I never thought of this line for this, "It's Cleon's choice, Swan's Warchief" illustrates Cleon's power. It doesn't prove for certain that there is nobody higher, but it hints at it.
