I like the old UFC when it didn't matter the size of the aponent, they just threw guys in the octagon and it was a tournament. But the new fighters are just as hard core and in fact better fighters because they have learned all different styles. I just like the old tournaments, except for not having time limits.
This is what Bruce Lee wanted, all differnt style fighters going at it to develop the most effective combative form. In fact, his idea was to have no formal styles just whatever worked the best to kick someones a$$
Yep, those were the days... Fighters of all shapes and sizes going at it. You'd get some massive big bad mutha against a tiny skinny wee guy... and you'd always be suprised at the outcome.
I remember watching those old tapes of UFC 1-6 and loving them... Who can forget Pat Smith's fight against that Texas Ninjitsu geezer in UFC 2? Nasty... Or Orlando Weet's fight against that big Judo guy which resulted in Orlando being pinned to the ground and recieving a ton of elbows to the head, half of which were after he was knocked out... Ouch.
Oleg Taktarov was the man too, but the fighter I liked most was Tank Abbott. That fight he had against that big hawaiian guy... we all know how that ends! :p
Man, I need this stuff on DVD.
Hold your tongue...
