because its hacked to death...not worth watching anyways...except for the deleted scenes.
did you ever notice the FURIES fight lasts about 10 seconds...real lame. it was probably edited for tv back in the early 80s..and they never did a new edit for todays TV standards...like alot of feature films that are made for TV...ever see RAIN MAN tv version..what a joke.
they wont show movies like they should be, yet they air bullshit shows like people eating maggots (fearfactor)...get with the program lame tv executives!
heres a thought....why not show movie in their original format too (1:85 or 2:35 aspect ratios) i refuse to watch a 'pan & scan' movie.....most viewers have been brain-washed in thinking that the Letterbox or Widescreen versions think it distracting or cropped at the top and bottom frames! time to wake up from your sleep and smell the coffee my friends.
you best bet to watch a JOHN CARPENTER film (2:35) in its original version. than watch the lame-ass Full frame version or pan & scan and you decide what looks better....you tell me

The last time it came on uk terrestrial tv, it was uncut and in widescreen.  They shown the daylight scene at the beginning as an added bonus.  BBC gets things right occasionally.

Dont know if this is of any interest to you.  When bbc shown the warriors as part of a gang violence double bill (the other film was la haine), it was introduced by a so called film expert named mark cousins.  Ive uploaded it onto youtube.  Heres the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_lMASwez0Y

The last time I saw the warriors on regular T.V. was in the eighties and early nineties.I remember seeing it once on prime time at 8 o'clock in 1982. I also remember seeing it again at 2 o'clock in the morning in the early 90's.

For all those interested...
The Warriors (1979) is on today, Sunday April 8th, 2.00pm, Sky Action/Thriller (S 304 V 402)
Just thought I'd tell those who happen to come here before it starts and live in Britain where it will be airing.
I'll be watching it.

LOL,I have quite a story about this ... Whilst spending the easter break at a friends house we were browsing the sky tv guide and happened to notice The Warriors was on,Trying to convince my wife/friends to watch it the best result i got was it being recorded on sky+,So later on in the evening after all the kids had been put to bed and quite a lot of alcohol had been consumed i convinced the others to play back and watch The Warriors  ;)
So an hour and a half later, what can i say they were all very impressed with the movie so that worked out quite well. The funny thing was the next morning,My friend was coming out with all these Warrior movie quotes and waking me up by banging milk bottles (Luther style) And saying ''Eddddieee come out to playyyyyyy'' time after time !
It made me laugh anyhow  :p

That's great!  That's the sign of a great movie.  I hardly watch movies on regular TV anymore anyway. The surround sound DVD player is probably the coolest thing ever invented.  I watched  Ten Commandments on Saturday (ABC)- that's a great movie too.  Moses- now that man was a Warrior!

KO
Best movie ever made-  "The Warriors"!

It is probably because the warriors was made in 1979 and it is a bit old to show on tv

It comes on now and again - but they show an edited version - but sometimes this edited version is not bad - as it includes some of the scenes that we were all hoping would be on the DVD as an extra (i.e. Warriors chatting as they make their way to the conclave, Swan addressing the Warriors just before the bathroom brawl, etc.)

I don't think the film is old not too be played.  IT's just that there's a wide assortment of films to pick from for a station to play - I mean, when's the last time you saw Rambo or Conan the Barbarian on TV?
What's the matter - goin' faggot?
