Let me start this Topic by introducing your ears to

Image
[glow=red,2,300]DIANA KRALL[/glow]

Her music is very Laid Back,Mellow, and Relaxing

She came on to the scene with a Nat "King" Cole Trio tribute album called All for You.
The Standout Tracks to me,are
Gee Baby,
Ain't I Good to You,
Frim Fram Sauce,
Hit That Jive, Jack!

Krall does not attempt to directly copy Cole much
(either pianistically or vocally), although his influence is
obviously felt on some of the songs.

Love Scenes is one album you have to hear,
When you listen to this album, you feel like you are in a
Jazz Club in NYC on a Saturday at 1:00AM at night.
She is at her best on
"Peel me a Grape"
"I Don't Know Enough About You,"
"I Don't Stand a Ghost of a Chance With You," and
"How Deep Is the Ocean."

On her Next Album "When I Look in Your Eyes"
Some of The Best Highlights to me were

Popsicle Toes  <--- Love this one!!! :D
Pick Yourself Up <--- Love this one too!!! :D
The Best Thing for You <--- Love this too!!! :D
Let's Fall in Love
Let's Face the Music and Dance
Devil May Care
When I Look in Your Eyes
I've Got You Under My Skin

One of my favorite album she made was
"The Look of Love"
There are plenty of strong compositions here,
including standards like
"I Remember You,"
"'S Wonderful"
"The Night We Called It a Day,"
"The Look of Love"
and "I Get Along Without You Very Well,"

Overall,She is has other albums as well,
but this is enough to get anyone started into Her music..
And if along the way,you loved what you heard,
please post here, because to me,if I helped you discover
something new in the sense of music, than it not only
broaden your appeal, but at the same time,
it make you want to look forward to what else I may post here..
Guests Reading this..Please post as well,I would love to hear from everyone..
Thank you again to The Mods.. HAPPY LISTENING...

Well theres something about the essence of Jazz, or blues that littiearlly releases the inner aura of a musicians soul.  It harnesses the flow of their being and channels it into a force like no other.  Its a feeling and energy, that goes beyond words.  It is shapless and formless, and can go through any barrier and obstacle.  It is beyond this world, and puts our mind, body, and soul into another complex relam of existence, leaving our hearts with peace, understanding, and comfort.  amking us think of the life around us.

Here a 1963, oldie by JohnCotran,Mccoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones.  Enjoy, and let the smooth sound carry you to it meaning.

John Coltrane "My Favorite Things" is a classic, and as a matter of fact.

I heard that The Doors patterned "Light My Fire" after John Coltrane's, "My Favorite Things"
with the long solos, and the crashing back together for the final climax.[glow=red,2,300]<---- You learn something new everyday..[/glow]

But what I know for sure is that this is a great album with the title track being one of Coltrane's best offerings.

And How can I forget The Classic John Coltrane Album

I think I got the link wrong.  http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ytz1ZKK9wXw

Well, what I meant, was that when you close your eyes and contemplate on it, music in general seems to evolve into a life of its own.  It creates its own being, thattells its own story, and how it came to be in this reality.  You see, some storys are so complex, and music in gneral, forms it into what it was meant to be, and that ever lasting feeling.  It can create a lifetime story of what one has gone through, and how the essence of this world glows.

Allow me to introduce to your Ears..

[glow=red,2,300]Antonio Carlos Jobim[/glow]

Image

It has been said that Antonio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim was the George Gershwin of Brazil, and there is a solid ring of truth in that, for both contributed large bodies of songs to the jazz repertoire, both expanded their reach into the concert hall, and both tend to symbolize their countries in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Antonio Carlos Jobim weaved a magic spell with his music the way few songwriters ever can; and he sang wonderfully as well. He truly invented Bossa Nova music in the late 1950s with João Gilberto; and for this he deserves to be in the history books forever for his fine contributions to the world of music.

Starts off with the smash hit "The Girl From Ipanema." Astrud Gilberto, Joao Gilberto's wife, sings the part of the vocals that are English. her voice imparted a sense of natural sensuality and honesty that few professional singers ever achieve. The Portuguese lyrics are also beautiful even if you don't understand precisely what they mean--this song is THAT good.

Another major early hit for Jobim follows; the song entitled "Desafinado (Off Key)"[glow=red,2,300]<---LOVE THIS ONE[/glow] shines like gold.
Jobim plays piano on "Desafinado (Off Key)" while both Astrud and João Gilberto sing to perfection. Stan Getz does a great saxophone solo on this classic track, too.
In addition, "Só Danço Samba" continues the romantic, enchanting early '60s Bossa Nova flavor

"Insensatez (How Insensitive)" [glow=red,2,300]<---- OFF THE HOOK MUST LISTEN[/glow]features Astrud Gilberto once more as she sings the lyrics to this melancholy ballad.

"Amor Em Paz (Once I Loved);" Ã
