Most Overrated Band?

The Beatles, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Van Hagar, Jimi Hendrix, and Queen come to my mind right off the start, and of all bands of all time.......



THE ROLLING STONES!!!!!

They suck and everyone loves them! Uhg!!!!! Like, gag me with a spoon.  :lol: They came to Idaho recently and the tickets were $300 A PEICE and it sold out. Not suprising, so get this, they sold out 54 mintues after they went on sale. Some people are nuts!

Now don't get me wrong, I like Hendrix, The Doors, Floyd, and The Beatles. But their stuff isn't as good as other people's whose stuff is way better.

(I'm talking about classic rock like bands who people call legends. All new crap is overrated, there are hardly any, if any, songs that have talent in them nowadays)

I dont agree with the last part, i think all new songs have talent in them, you have to have talent to wite a song. the only way a song can't have talent is if its a cover song or if its just completely stupid and makes no sense.

The Kooks are seriously over rated, at first they where ok and i liked a few of there songs.
But for those of you who live in the UK you will know that there songs where played every 5 [bad word deleted]ing minutes of the day on the radio and on music channels!

The fact that they where overplayed so much and so overrated got the songs stuck in your heads and made them incredibly annoying.

I said the "Some people are nuts!" part, becuase I was mainly aiming at my budget. There is no way I could pay that for a concert, even if it was one I wanted to see. Oh yeah, and it was my opinion.

For the most overrated band of all time, I'd have to say The Beatles. I am not disputing their talent and creativity, or their contribution to the music industry, but I don't think they belong on the pedestal they have been placed upon. Some of their music was incredibly stupid, and was only popular and well-received because they had recorded it. Having said that, I find "Abbey Road" to be one of the greatest albums of all time.

Also overrated are The Doors. More than half of their legend was due to Jim Morrison's substance abuse and outrageous antics.

Excuse me but the Rolling Stones suck, Name a band that's done more than they have? People love them because they play good rock and roll music. Sure there tickets are high, So are everything else in life. They have been around long enough and proved themselves to be the greatest rock and roll band of all time.You also mentioned those other bands saying " Their stuff isn't that good". Give me a break!! That's right they are legends.Your to young to know what good music is.

Um? No. I didn't say their stuff wasn't that good. I love their stuff, but I LIKE OTHER STUFF MORE. I love the Doors, I love Hendrix, I love The Beatles, and I like Floyd.

I can't sit and listen to The Stones, their music makes me cringe. Mic Jager is probably the most annoying singer out there, second only to some newer bands I've heard. And their songs drag.

I'm sure we could find a lot more negative stuff to say about each others music, and I rarely agree with anybody on the subject of my music, because my interests are rare. I'm not saying ths because you like it, and you pissed me off, it's my opinion and I'd say it anyday.

Hey coney! You're never too young to know what good music is! Are you stupid? What, when I turn 18 I'll magically know what good music is? My father is in a band, he introduced me to all the classics- Eagles, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, etc.- and "I'm too young to know good music"? What you said was very stupid, man.

As for the topic, I think that Lynyrd Skynyrd is very overrated. I can't stand their music at all. I prefer ZZ Top anyday!
