Would be nice though if we get a second wave of the second Mezco series. I dont think I really need a third line of (overprized) figures/statues unless the first two lines are incomplete.....

It is up for pre-sale. Comming in 2010 and they have a payment plan so plenty of time to save some $$ up for this. Also you can have people chip in for Holiday presents. I'm getting one (which I don't know). You know you will be kicking yourselves when you can find one and they are going for big $$.

are you getting the standard one for $274.99

or the Sideshow Exclusive Edition for $299.99

so sayeth the website:

The Sideshow Exclusive version of the Baseball Fury 18-inch Mixed Media Statue includes a unique feature available nowhere else: Interchangeable 'Red' Baseball Fury head.

ah, the hell with it - get both of 'em!!

I thinking (and just guessing) that the sideshow exclusive is the YELLOW base figure with just the changeable RED head. I could be wrong, but I will pay the extra $25 for the exclusive if that is the case. Maybe TCM has more info. Also, see below quote (from a message board) from the owner of POP CULTURE about future statues:

Thanks for the comments. Im certainly willing to revise to please potential collectors.

If baseball furie pre orders go well I will immediately start Swan.

The license is for everyone. I never planned to just do the baseball furies.

I wasn't expecting the figures to come with cloth outfits.  I thought they would be more like Neca's reel toys 18 inch line with a sound chip.  At £35, they were more affordable.  Not sure i'd like to see another swan figure so soon.

I hear you Ninth Delegate not another swan, I still think Cleon or Cochise would be better or even Luther

given what we've seen of statues past, a Mercy statue may well mark the first ever occurence of a female figure without giant breasts!

You know they will give her big ones. The always exaggerate the features on women.

I believe the only difference between the regular and exclusive edition, is that the exclusive comes with the extra interchangeable red faced head. So basically, you could just buy the exclusive and choose whichever head you wish to display on the figure. But to display them both, you would need to purchase both versions.

I am still on the fence with this. It isn't really the price issue. If the piece was phenomenal, I would purchase it in a second. However, I don't really do the statue thing, and if I AM going to pay that much for a statue, it needs to be phenomenal. The pose of this statue, and the head sculpt bother me. The Fury looks worried to me, and the pose could have been much more dynamic or iconic. It IS a nice piece, but just not sure it is nice enough to justify buying it.

Right now he looks like he is up to bat and worried about some hot shot pitcher's fast ball. He isn't making a face like that throughout the whole stance/swing, I mean, kind of, but the sculpt seems exaggerated, almost cartoony. He should look more creepy and intense, rather than scared. I can think of three shots/poses off the top of my head that would have been much better.

See the scene here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksTjDg351dk
Pose at 3:35
Pose at 3:43
or a mid swing.
Heck, even running would have been better.

Yeah, the more I think about it, and look at it, I think they "dropped the ball" a bit on this one. Bummer.
