I collect militery stuff, i currently have:
German- Wermacht helmat, Luftwaffe knife, Army boots and a Mauser Kar rifle(all WW2 era).
American- USMC uniform, paratrooper badge (WW2 era) and a commando knife.
Israeli (got alot of stuff cause i acctualy served there)- Tank crew helmat, sand goggles, kevlar vest, militery issue gas mask, paratrooper barret (red), dog tags (mine heh), ranks (coropel, sargent and captain), militery vest (vest with slots for clips and helmat) and lots of M16 clips.
Roman- Segmata lorica (Legionery armor, it was acctualy crafted by my friend whos into smithing), gladius and pilum.

Weapons- Blowgun, crossbow (crafted by my friend as well), composite bow, long bow, claymore (long sword) scimitar and 17 homemade arrows.

Sadly most of these stuff are on storage cause of fear from burglery and the fact that 40% of these stuff are illigal.

When I was a kid it was books, little cowboys, indians, and horses, can't find them now. and big Breyer Horses, glass horses, jackknives, and interesting rocks.
When the Breyers got so outragously expensive, I quit collecting, and just keep the ones I have.  Still look for new ones out that I don't have though every time I am where they are sold/catalog.
I still collect Books, and have too many stashed in bins, as well as bookcases.
music, records/cds too, though I have sort of quit now that it is easy to just flick on the tv and watch videos.  but my old stuff I can't let go of.

Now that I am an adult--sort of like SHM-LOL-I still look for Books that interest me, and  interesting rocks, esp. red or fossil.
-I have a movie collection of both purchased and taped off tv tapes, probably 250+ 6 hours, and I am still taping movies.  Don't have space for them all either, now I have started with DVDs.  Have rubbermaid totes and a bookcase full of them.
THIRD WATCH, have pictures/articles and every episode on tape twice.
Michael Beck, LOTS of pictures, articles, and just about every movie/appearance and tv show he has been on except 2 I can't find anywhere.
Heath Ledger and  Brokeback Mountain, also lots of articles and pictures and all of his movies too.
Michael Pare' a lot of his movies, was into action for awhile.
And I also have a brass bell collection, and a bunch of schnauser dogs made from glass, plastic, stuffed, however I find them.

None of my collections are really valuable to anyone but me. I have a book pricing the Breyers,  but used movies, or hometaped movies don't have much-I just like them.
A lot of my pictures could be sold I guess, but being a collector of stuff, I am not sure I could part with them, and I also know that some of them I could never get what I paid for them back anyway, cause I have bouts of losing my perspective on certain photos.
But I have them all sorted in page protectors in 3 file boxes and  5 big 3 ring binders, all the articles from assorted magazines and internet printing too.

My son has a pretty good GI Joe and big Ninja Turtle collection too.

SW lego minifigures:  its the cheapest way to collect SW figs without breaking the bank, plus they're small and easy to store.  why i gotta be so geeky?   :p

You know, I never understood people. Everybody collects different things. I collect (besides what I previously mentioned) the new Teen Titans, MOTU (the new ones), The Batman action figures. I don't play with them, I just collect them damn it!!! When I was a kid I couldn't buy the toys that I wanted, 'cause I didn't have the money, but now $*%#, I am taking revenge! I kinda feel like that guy from the movie "40 Year Old Virgin", nobody understood his hobby!

I remember this guy made fun of me once, he is like: "Well, I collect Gucci shoes and that's more normal than collecting toys" and I am like: "So!, my Blue Face Fury alone is worth more than you Gucci shoes, so kiss my a$$!. Oh, and the ladies from QUEER EYE have any opening". I was not going to say that, 'cause I understood his "hobby/collection", but man that cat just got on my nerves that day!

i started collecting toys for the very same reason.  when i was a kid, my folks never had any real money so i didn't get much in the ways of toys.  don't get me wrong, they hooked me up when they could but it wasn't like we were rolling in dough, a GI joe figure here and there, maybe a transformer if i did good in school.
but now that i'm a grown up, i have the desposible income to buy the stupid things my folks never got me.  i'll buy whatever, take it out of the box, put it on a shelf, and stare at it every once in while.  its not like i'm setting up battle scenes and swooshing things around my living room.   :p  its about reliving my youth more than anything else.
and speaking of 40 year old virgin, someone from the macross site i frequent made this avatar which i thought was really funny....

this is what i don't get?  who cares whats more normal, we all like what we like.  if you like shoes, so be it, but i'm not going to make fun of you for it.  not only that, but a $10 batman figure thats been played with will have more value in the future than a used pair of gucci shoes....i mean who the heck buys used shoes?   :?
now that being said, i'd rather be a not so normal geek that collects toys, than a sissy girlie man who collects shoes...i mean sneakers i can understand but shoes?   :? ;)
