Cast signed Subway Window Card

Post by Captain Howdy »

Hi there,

this is my first post here, so let me give you a brief introduction: I'm the owner of the Galerie filmposter.net, Germany's only gallery exclusively for original movie posters. You'll find me online at

http://www.filmposter.net

I first saw the WARRIORS in the summer of '79, and it has stuck with me ever since.

A few weeks ago, I finally found my 'definite' piece of movie paper on the film. The forum won't allow me to post an image, so I put it up on my website:

http://www.filmposter.net/warriors_subw_wc.jpg

The poster has a size of 21x22 in, and this size is called a 'Subway Window Card'. It was exclusively used for advertisement in the NY subway system, how cool is THAT? In 20 years of collecting movie paper, I have never seen another one of these, so it certainly is pretty rare in its own right, but this one is also signed by several cast members, including all the 'big' names from the movie!

The first reason to post it here is (of course) to BRAG about my find, but there is another reason as well: Some of the signatures are personalized to 'Frank Tobin', and I was wondering, does anyone here know who the heck that is, and what he had to do with the movie? My guess is, he was probably a PR guy or something, but that's simply a guess.
The person I bought this from apparently found it a Salvation Army yard sale in the Los Angeles area, so whoever 'Frank Tobin' is, I guess he may not be a fan anymore... ;-)

Any input would be welcome, and before you may ask: This piece is most definitely not for sale.

Helmut

This was on eBay, and the name was mentioned, but the seller didn't have any clue about the poster or any background information.

So he worked on THE WARRIORS in '79, goes into hiding for 23 years and reappears to do a single episode of a TV series in 2002? I don't know.
