Orphans scene ,weakest in film??

Post by Geronimo »

Listen..I LOVE this film with a passion but every time i watch it, I usually skipover the Orphans scene.Imean not a lot happens does it,the fight consists of throwing a molotov and thats it.Its the only complaint i have about the film.I know its a device to get Mercy into the story ,but to be frank,i could have done without her too.
Instead of the Orphans scene ,how about a battle with the Hi Hats, or Savage Huns, maybe losing another Warrior?...ok,just a thought, anyone else agree with me on this???

Yeah, it would've been nice to see the Hi-Hats.
Or maybe losing a Warriors.

But I guess it was just an introduction to a low class gang.
And shows how weak they can be.

Orphans scene ,weakest in film??

Acually I really look foward to this part. I agree theres not a whole lot of action could have done a little more at the end but I love everything that comes out of the orphans leaders mouth. I don't know theres just something about him I like and that whole scene. Not tryin to start nothin its cool you don't care for it. You'll probally think im nuts but I'd say this the punks and the furys scene are a 3 way tie for 1st place for me. :D

They cant just kill off a Warrior to keep you interested. It would make the ending not as good if Swan, Cowboy, Snow, Vermin, Rembrant, and Cochise didnt make it to Coney.

I have to say i do enjoy the orphans scene. I think it shows the hierarchy of gangs. The warriors, like all the gangs, are meant to be from the lower class areas. To see them with the orphans show that in the gangland they are in the upper class, if you get my meaning. Its a whole different social set up.
Plus i love the way mercy is brought in. Although i've been told that in the book the warriors gang rape her. She definately has a better deal in the film!

The Orphan scene is like the only one in the movie that is taken directly from the book the movie was based on. It is an important scene both in the book and movie, showing how the Warriors carry themselves in front of other gangs and developing the character Swan. If it was just another fight scene we wouldn't get a sense of the pride the Warriors took in themselves as a gang for not removing their colors when they had a chance and marching through the Orphans territory knowing they were out numbered. This is the first instance showing their dedication in making it home, but on their own terms.

The orphans scene is great and Sully always manages to crack me up.

I really like this scene as a comic piece; it kind of breaks up the action but its worth it to hear Fox say "..thats really heavy"

for all concerned if this scene was cut from the movie you would never have seen the blooper where ajax grabs mercy from behind and swan walks forward and and tells her "maybe we ought to pull a train on you ,you might even like it."behind the warriors is a 3 second glance of the orphans behind them then the scene cuts to where the orphans catch up with the warriors. ;)

Though Ajax is one of my favorite warriors i though his fate was, though displeasing, fitting ans somewhat expected. It shows that the warriors are not invincible and each have their own weakness.

I think this scene has good ponts and bad ponits. For instance, it shows that the warriors arent really affraid when out-numbered and can "negotiate" when it comes to taking off their colours.
Though, the thing i would have liked to have seen would be a little rumble between the orphans and warriors.

Hell no, I LOVE the Orphans part. So much killer dialog, and some great one liners.

Yes, my favorite line is in one of their scenes.

one of my fave scenes also! def. the best dialog of the film! and sully and his crazy lazy eye never fail to produce giggles here. skipping the scene over will not get you a heavy rep....mess with the orphans and you will find that out
