This page has been set up to chronicle any information about the upcoming “remake” of The Warriors movie.
Terence Winter, a writer and executive producer of The Sopranos, has been drafted in to write the remake of the 1979 street-gang classic that Tony Scott is directing for MTV Films and Scott Free Productions. The movie will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.
Scott’s version will follow the outline of the first film in which a gang leader is assassinated during a truce and The Warriors, wrongly accused of the assassination, must make their way home through hostile gang territories. Scott will also be updating the heightened reality of the original film for contemporary audiences. David Gale is producing with Scott, while MTV Films’ Van Toffler is executive producing with Skip Chaisson. Winter was Emmy-nominated five times for his work on Sopranos.
Scott has chosen LA for the setting of the film as he classes it as a horizontal city, rather than a vertical one which New York is. Scott is hoping for a hundred thousand gang members to be in the film and has been out and about promoting the film to real gangs in the city. This has included the Crips, Bloods, The 18th Street Gang and the Vietnamese. All of whom have been enthusiastic about the movie as they were fans of the original. I think the old Warriors movie will be better than the new Warriors movie
I love this movie..I wish hollywood would just leave the classics alone…they ruined the time machine, planet of the apes, Clash of the Titans and many many others…i prefer to have Michael Beck etched in my brain on my deathbed…not some crappy remake. That is just my humble opinion…
This is one movie I feel should not be remade. Why fix what isn’t broken. Like the previous poster except about a different character I’d rather have James Remar etched in my brain on my deathbed. Quite a few movies have been remade only to be disappointments with the exception of Star Trek (2009) which I believe satisfied long-time fans as well as welcomed new ones.
I think The Film Will be Disappointing. The Original Movies always have their Moments until the Companies Want to Drain it for Money .. Like Greece was a Classic .. Greece 2 = Fail. ” But i bet you No one is gonna be there” Ajax .. If you go i bet you will be repeating some lines said in the old classic.

I do not think it is good to follow the same pattern past a new plot would be better because I think it would spoil as happened in the movie karate kid
I think it would be better if they made a Warriors 2 movie instead of just a re-make of a movie that has nothing wrong with it and now that the warriors have a “heavy rep” they could expand there territory taking on the electric elimanotors, huns and other gangs from the game that we didnt see in the first movie.
I think that their should be a remake of the warriors only because I played the game before i watched the movie and there is a lot of things that are in the game that are not in the film example.. you dont learn how cleon formed the warriors as he ad vermin used to be destroyers in the game and get set up by virgil the gang leader of destroyers you should learn how each 1 of them joied ( 9 delegetes ) in the film the warriors dont come across the high hats like the game .. you kill chatterbox .. and they only have 2 fighting senes in the whole of the filmland in the game thats pretty much wat you do fight and bop through many gangs throuhout the city on the film theyre are all shit bags apart from ajax and snow but in the game theyre ll tuff nuts any wai i ope you think abot my idea everything thats in the game should be in the film the most dissapointing thing is the film starts of at the meeting and in the game that like 3/4 way through when the meetin starts
