Re: Hidden Metaphors?

I always looked at the most obvious one, and thats the glow of Cyrus.  The way he projects himself, its  as if he is a messenger from God.  Its like he represents some sort of prophet that was meant to enlighten us in a world of struggle and misery.  Just like Jesus, Muhammad, Moses, or the Buddha, ...

Re: The Beach Scene

I thought that the way it ended, brought a more realistic approach in an imaginary world.  You see the warriors are only human, and I think that fighting the rouges would make them into immortal, which they are not.  The movie depicts everyday people in a harsh environment.  We are amazed at the fac...

Re: Groups within the Gang

I am sure that there are sub groups within the gangs.  I mean if you look at yourselves and the companions around you, you will realize thats its like this amongst your own friends.  Did you ever notice how whenever you talk to a certain group of friends at work or at a university, you may ocassiona...

Re: whyy

This whole theory of how did the cops know about the conclave, well I always had to have an imagination on the past of Cyrus.  Cyrus seemed to be a man with a long past.  He could have had a number of reasons to start a gang, and actually be that dominant.  My guess is that Cyrus grew up in the 50's...

Re: What's your favorite line from the movie?

My favorite line would have to be the silence of Swan.  I mean the silent cold motionless stare that Swan gives the prom couple.  It could mean anything to you.  Its completely quite, but yet gives so much meaning.  "We do not have to change ourselves for the likes of you, your no better than us.  W...

Re: if you could be a warrior

I have thought about this for a long time, and come to realize that I am just an everyday guy who wants an education, and a bright future like anyone else here.  I guess its cool that while your watching the movie to find your place in it, but I could never have that kind of life.  There seems to be...

Re: Mad at The Riffs?

Well you have to realize, that being in a gang, is like representing your country in a time of war.  War is senseless and stupid.  Theres now countries who are at peace with one another because they realized that their bitter rivalries have bin for nothing.  Its like the treaties between Egypt and I...

Re: How often do you watch the movie now?

I always believed that this movie should be watched on special occasions.  Its like when someone seems to have a hard time, so they turn to a religious book.  I feel if you wait a long time to watch it, its as if you are watching it all over again even if you know what is going to happen.  The reaso...

Re: In The City lyrics

Whenever you here these lyrics, you always seem to have a sense of hope in a world that is decaying, and people will step all over you.  In reality, we deal with our own personal demons, and tragedies.  Whether you have a bad drug addiction, or you feel that their is no reason to live in this discus...

Re: Swan a good warlord?

Well i always figured that Swan was never supposed to be the perfect leader regardless of what people say about him.  You see Swan is a man who is in search of himself in this life.  He does not know what his responsibilities in this world is, and is always in search for knowledge.  Being that Cleon...

Re: Questions

Well like I said previously, it may sound funny, but i always thought Cyrus had such a great energy level about him, that everyone became one unified soul.  This man was so mystical, that he was able to put the strongest person in a trance.  Its like Cyrus was a messenger sent from God to bring upon...

Re: Prom couples

I think we all like the fact that swan tells the couple, "we don't have to change ourselves for the likes of you, your no better than us."  I know we would always like to say this to some people, but I like to be realistic.  I mean, when I graduated and had my prom, I said to myself, "now this is th...

Re: Masai at the meeting?

Well you can see the comparison of the yin and yang of Masai and Cyrus.  They are complete opposites.  Cyrus is the man who gives society a chance, and believes that it will pull through.  Masai is the man who will stay behind and take charge, and organize a plain to make it out of situations.  Its ...

Re: Favorite character?

I think we can all pretty much relate to our o Hinton naturally.  I mean we all have our own personal demons that we have to deal with in life.  When he comes out of that tunnel a new man, it reminds of those native American tribes, that isolate themselves, and take a certain drug to put them in a t...

Re: best scenes in movie history

When the warriors walk down that beach as in the city comes, it gives you the sense of peace, comfort, and enlightenment, that even if you live in some dirty dicussting town, you realize that this is my dirty town and I will make the best of things.  I know that deep down theres always hope. So if y...
