The movie is not a remake but a new version of the warriors, with different characters but basically the same plot.

Guns unfortunately are probably going to have to be part of the movie because they are so common. But this movie has not even begun production.

You don't need to see a remake. It's being done by Tony "shakey cam" Scott, so just place your tv on top of a washing machine while its on full spin the next time you watch your warriors dvd.

I am still VERY much in doubt that this flick is going to come to light. There has been 0 new info on the film after the influx a couple of months ago. UNSTOPPABLE is out today and WARRIORS I thought was to be next. It would HAVE to be in pre-production right now or the very least a script and A cast member. I think will all the backlash that was written after it was announced and what is being said on TWITTER ( just put "warriors movie remake" in the search and see what other fans say), they have either scrapped, put it on the far back burner, or maybe, just maybe will re-think it and place it back in NY.I mean no news is good news. I know he is going to also do a HELLS ANGLES movie, so maybe he will do that first and then get the OK from them to use the WAR-BIRD in his WARRIORS.

I had thought the possibility of a re-make had been ongoing for a few years? This possible new remake or should we call it re-take on The Warriors is supposed to take place in LA not NY. I just wonder if this will bring in a whole new slew of younger fans who did not even know of the original Warriors classic, or just have us cult purists wondering why they even tried. Maybe their best bet is just to make it so different that it's not even much of a resemblance of the original. "I mean ya just can't touch a classic like The Warriors". Just let's hope if they do try it that it's not going to be like a Jaws type thing wherein they just couldn't leave the classic alone and kept churning out new additions. I mean Jaws II wasn't a bad followup to Jaws at all, but by the time they got to the fourth Jaws film, ohhhh man was it ever wayyyyyyy out of hand. Just my take on it.

I've read articles from 2004 about The Warriors remake and just read one about Tony Scott. Paramount has confirmed him as the director to the sequel of Top Gun. I don't really see the Warriors remake as a priority for them.
