The Bad Grammar Thread

Post by Space Toaster »

This thread is for us to discuss a very serious topic, and that is...

BAD GRAMMAR.

*dramatic music and lightning followed by thunderclap*

I've been known to abuse the English language for comedic effect. However, it drives me absolutely insane when people fail to spell simple words properly. I'm referring to crimes such as 'u' for 'you' and 'wut' for 'what'. The usual excuse for this is it saves time, which is my opinion a load of crap.

I will end this post now before I go into full-scale rant mode.

I'm a grammar Nazi myself. Maybe all of us who feel the same way could unofficially call ourselves "The Grammar-Nazi Riffs".

(Cue rimshot, sound of crickets chirping). Scurvy Dog slowly sidesteps backstage.

...I found that funny.. eventually

This is fair enough, but I'm going to spend an unnecessary amount of time looking through your posts for bad grammar.

Just Grammar-cy Riffs would work though right? Is there a real need to bring the Nazi party into this? Haha.

Grammar Nazis have nothing to do with Hitler or exterminating anyone. They just feel compelled to militantly correct grammar and/or spelling when needed.

Kind of like the Soup Nazi on "Seinfeld".

I normally don't attack senior citizens, but in your case I'd like to make an exception. >_>

I was happy before! (btw, that's a comma splice).
