One of my favorite is Krautrock band Guru Guru from Germany.  Here is a sample of one their songs Baby Cakewalk from their 1972 LP Kanguru.

i really liked some of the underground bands from the grunge era where nirvana came from before they got big, like L7, TAD and the butthole surfers.
