Emo music....

Post by Baby Bear »

I would like to know why people claim Emo music sucks.I just thought about bringing this up. I mean a song is suppose to describe feelings...well it possibly can just like a poem. I also hate it when some people claim a song is emo becuase it includes words like "Suicide" or "Take my heart away" etc. I'll tell you emo isn't nessicarily suicidal. Its emotional and emotions leads to feelings in which god have given us to use.
Im just wondering why some ppl think emo music sucks.

I'm not a fan, but I don't think any of it sucks. I'll make fun of it from time to time because it seems funny at first understanding what it is. But when you think about it, all music is "emo" music because almost all music is a representation of one's feelings and emotions. I just like the sound of classic rock more (Silver Bullet, baby!).

because from what I've heard a lot of emo only has one emotion, depression. that and well "sugar we're going down" and "nikki FM" are songs about stalking and I think sugar we're going down is on a kidz bop CD and that's just wrong.

That's why I stick to old school music, the new stuff doesn't cut it for me, specially so-called "emo".

True, true. They choose to judge a book by its cover.Hard rock isn't emo...Emo stands alone with its own genre. Speaking of emo I used to listen to Fall out boy but know they don't appeal to me anymore. Anywayz ppl make fun of the artist and songs becuase we have emo kids. To me they aren't a threat. I used to dislike them but now I've learn to accept them. They are just immature.

well yes it actually both ways. I saw a picture on the internet saying Real people don't need labels...but heres the things these labels such as Goth and chav, etc. is there if you think you fit that catefgory. We all play a role in life and you can label yourself if you want. Thats why its there.

There you go right there you got a name for yourself. See? Me myself labeled as goth/punk...yeah kinda pointless put I just wanted to mention it. Its all good. Its like playing a character in a video game. And labeling yourself is different from music labeling. A song belongs in one type of genre for example you have a rock song and many people call it emo just cuz it has "suicide" in it. They don't realize it isn't classified as emo and that means that person doesn't have a slice of idea what the song is PERIOD!

Brotha Scurv, I don't even think these kids music is a genre, I think it's a bunch well, sucky music, IMO!

Some of the singers just have a really annoying voice, probably the only thing execrating about it, in my opinion. Aside from that, it's a lot of the people that listen to it that bothers me. The way they dress and look, more directed to the males who wear make-up or skin tight shirts/pants, don't get me wrong I'm not saying everyone who listens to it fits that description. It also irks me that females absolutely love that, what's so alluring about a dude who looks like a girl? In my opinion, it makes the genre and their character degrading.
However, it does make some girls exceedingly enticing.
