Hey, just read the latest installment of the new script and i hate to say it but it actually doesn't seem to be just as bad as i'd expected.
What about me? I got the big one...

Ya know Jamie, the more pages you post, the more I wish that this movie was not labeled a "Warriors Remake". Just change the name of the main gang and let it stand on it's own.

Don't get me wrong, it seems so far like a movie I would go see anyway, I just don't need the hype & false hope of a remake billing.

Think about all the "Romeo & Juliet/West Side Story" clones that came out, especially in the 80's. I can think of at least 6 right off the top of my head. None of them were billed as a remake, or even based on those stories, yet it was obvious that they were heavily based on them. (Boy & Girl from 2 different ethnic background gangs meet & fall in love. Fellow gang members just won't let them be.)

Though I'm holding my breath, I hope this isn't the script that gets used, though I'd like to see it made as a different movie without the Warriors name.

It's been a while since I read those pages, but seriously...three-sided nunchuks? How ridiculous does it get? "...We see that it was just a sparring exercise..." Give me a break.

Oh and I don't mean to be sexist but it seems strange having a girl in the group, and the names of the characters aren't really up to par. of course I'll still go see it because it has the Warrors name attached to it and the fights will probably be really good, but I can't seem to get into it. You could tell that the writers had a hard time doing it, and were really trying. Anybody know if the idea of a remake was pitched to MTV, or rather it was assigned to some writers/producers by MTV itself?

This script is a tragedy.

The gang members have the WORST names. "Boo" was never a good name, unless you're a cartoon ghost.

The Fox was a good name. Bear... Bear, is a bit rediculous with the animal names. Now, they got the fact that that name only really works with big guys, but even then it takes a bit of work and luck to make it fit.

Ashe... spell it "ASH", you pretentious bumfez!

Tripp, I'm willing to say there's a reference there I'm missing. I think that works well as a last name, but I'm not so sure as a person's monicker on it's own.

Does that say Swan? I can't tell.

Rolo sounds less tough than Rembrandt and Swan. Also sounds like a porn star or something.

Nikki is one of the last names in my mind for the tough girl image. Then again, I guess it doesn't help that one of the first names in my mind for the tough girl is "Vasquez".

"L"? Meh.

Man, I couldn't pain myself to read the fight scene (I also couldn't quite read the pages...), but the martial arts aspects of this movie already hurt.

I mean, you don't make a street fighting movie about Martial Arts and label it as the remake of something not only great, but filled with brutal, unforgiving, unorthodox face bashing.

If they're gonna make everybody have martial arts, I really hope they fit. And I honestly doubt they will. I also doubt they'll get some of the really obscure, underappreciated, and fitting stuff, most of which are surprisingly western. I mean, who'd take into account boxing for a character? Wrestling? CQC? Lucha Libre? (I know it's wrestling, but it's a unique form of it that I've been getting into lately) Savate? Kickboxing? Hell, although it's pretty Eastern, Muay Thai?

If they're gonna get rediculously exotic with the styles, it'd be nice to see some really strange things, like the unarmed portion of Spanish fencing, Sumo (Come on, Bear's perfect for at least a little bit of Sumo in his style), Capoeira, African fighting techniques, crazy things like that mixed into people's styles. It'd be great to see Jeet Kune Do influence in someone's style. I'd rather see that than a bunch of pussies waving knives around.

I mean, hell, if you're gonna make it a martial arts flick, go all out, preferrably with plenty of brutal street fighting influence.

And, also, you just know that all those styles would open up the connections to great warriors of old (or recent, if somebody had Jeet Kune Do :P ). I mean, in the original, we had Masai (It'd be awesome if he fought in the remake, using African Massai arts), Ajax, Cochise, Cleon, and probably some others I'm forgetting.

I went off on a complete tangent/rant. Whoops, sorry.
* Insert awesome line from the Warriors here. *

Well the WarChief's announcement gives me hope that maybe the remake won't be the bust I am afraid it will be.
OF course, it still may NOT be what I would wish it to be, but no matter, it won't replace the ORiginal in my heart.

MANNNN!!!!

Maannn! I just read that its more likely they are going to do the Kung Fu thing, karate or whatever you call that in their fights. Next thing you know, they are going to be flying in the air and fighting in mid air for about a minute 'til they touch the ground. What a bunch of crap!!! :x

I don't think they should touch that movie and remake it. This movie is a classic. Too good to remake

   Oh Lions... The first lagh I had on this topic.

Look... I saw it, is not bad, well, some of the names......"rolo"
But the truth is, I don't care if the best actors in the world will be in it.
I don't care who is going to direct it.
I don't care if the screenplay is amazing.
It's a nice story, FOR A TRIBUTE MOVIE!
The problem is, well I'll tell you, some people said you can't remake a classic, I think you could remake a classic. But. do. NOT. touch. this movie.    :x :x :x :x
Tha Warriors is beautiful to the fans because of the 70's cinematography, because of THOSE actors playing THOSE characters, because of the quotes ( I swear, If I hear someone else threatning to turn a gang member in to a popsicle, I will die )...
No, no ya know what's gonna kill me? The opening credits, without the wonder wheel and with a diferent song.
I have a request to Mr. Scott... just shoot me, it's quicker
or........... Don't call it a Remake :D

King Kong of 1933 was a cool movie. The 1976 remake was pretty close to the original in storyline and only time was different integrating modern aspects but not ruining the original story. Now they've remade it again. Cool.

The Warriors 1979 and The Warriors 2006 have as much in common as if they woulda had King Kong be a transformer robot that flew out of a monkey's butt in the remake.

Post by troubleca »

Ok this makes so much sence! Remake in L.A ? Crypts and bloods? Just Great. Man i was so happy untill i heard that BS. THat is just like any gang movie these days. It will suck ass. It should be the same time and same type of gangs. I see movies all the time African americans thugs shooting each other wow!!. WIth guns. Man thats not worriors man thats garbage. If this guy was smart he make not a remake but a part two to this movie. Based in new york and old school Gangs. Just with sick effects. That was a let down for sure. Just think me and my cuzin was just talking about it after we beat the game. To see that movie remake the way it is. Some how some way i hope all the forums and this place can make them change there minds. Because they are stupid. They come out with the game so people got into that type of movie again. Then now they going to change it all together!! SO lame
