Hiya New old guy here!
Hello
Beano from Scotland here! I used to come here to read a lot and sometimes post as a lifelong Warriors fan, now my son Jai is a huge Warriors fan I'm back to catch up on everything.
I love the movie, not so much the Director's cut but it's not too bad at all. I'm thrilled there's going to be a new version though, although the era, style, music, atmosphere and filmography of late 70s New York makes the film the classic that it is, and it will be impossible to match, let alone beat.
The action figures are fantastic, wish they were cheaper (I am Scottish) and more readily available.
The game's great too, although those rascals at Rockstar seem to have turned our heroes into villains (more like the Warriors in the book). Good fun though.
I'm currently making a warriors vest for my son's xmas, got the patches and just won a leather vest off ebay. So I came here to have a look at the Forums to try to source some trim for the vest, and have been reading all the topics and wanted to get back on here!
Ok I'm going to have a look around.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum...you seem to be an interesting fella. I'd like to see a pic of the finished version of that vest you are making your son. What an excellent idea for a gift...it would be one of those types of gifts that just keeps on giving...

Re: Hiya New old guy here!
Cheers for the welcome.
I'll get Jai (my son) to model the Warriors vest on Xmas day and post the pics here.
Here's his Warriors Xmas stuff so far.
1 brown leather vest
1 set of Warriors patches
4 action figures, Swan, Luther, Cleon and Yellow Furie (I'm trying to track 2 loose figures, Ajax and Cochise if anyone can help.)
1 commissioned Baseball Furie picture from Chris DiBari.
Ok this site has been really helpful, you guys are true believers. You'll be able to see his beaming grin from space.
Cheers

Me too also as well!
The figures keep on coming, I should have a few doublers soon, I'll hopefully be able to trade with someone.

i'm actually looking forward to it.. but i would rather like a prequel like the game or something like that, not another movie with drive-by's etc...

Re: Hiya New old guy here!
it wouldnt work, if there was going to be a prequal, then they should have done it straight after the original, same cast and same kinda timesCeeLoc wrote: i'm actually looking forward to it.. but i would rather like a prequel like the game or something like that, not another movie with drive-by's etc...

I agree that the only way it could have been done is if it was within 1-2 years of the original and all the original cast were kept together. The original was made in 1979 and the 80's changed things so fast. American culture in 1983 would have been a lot different than it was in 1979. I'd imagine that would be at least partly true for the rest of Western countries...There was a big transition in America from the aftermath of the Vietnam War in the late 70's to the creativity and growth of the 80's.....very different times in America although only a few years apart.

I'm just getting back on here also. I played the pipes for 2 years, but don't have an hr to dedicate every evening to it, so had to let it go.
Re: Hiya New old guy here!
I can see a lot of culture change just in the few years that this site has been around when I go back and look at the old posts. It's amazing how much things change in just 4-5 years.
