Gang logo art competition 2009

Ive drawn the gang names out of a hat (actually it was a small plastic HMV bag, but hat sounds better) to make this as random as possible.  Ive excluded all gangs thats been mentioned in the unconfirmed gang thread. (Yes, I sat and wrote them all down on bits of paper. Sad, I know).

We've an even amount of participants for 3 knockout rounds.  The winners go through to a 3 way final.  This approaching weekend, I shall set up a poll thread for each round for participants to post their logo and for forum members to cast their vote.

Heres the draw:-

Iller... Vs Dud:        Your randomly chosen gang is The Speedwagons

Lier one Vs Wargod:  Your randomly chosen gang is The Stevedores

Ninja Vs 4nik8:        Your randomly chosen gang is The nightriders

You have full freedom of interpretation, but copy and pasting photo images is not allowed (if you want to sketch from photo reference, thats fine).  Remember its a 1970's-esq back patch design, so use your judgement on how complex/simple your going to make it.  Composition is more important than drawing skill in this comp.  Good luck, Boppers.  Any questions, bung them on here.  If ive used up all my daily five posts, i'll reply via PM.

Your round with Iller... will have its own thread to post in.  Doing it this way puts less preasure on your chosen opponent.  Last time there was a simular competition, folk were voting for the best before both pictures had been posted.  If you all post around the same time, it also prevents unintentionally influencing each other.

You missed the deadline and theres no one else to pair you with, but if you want to pick one of the three gangs and have a go just for the fun of it, you can have a mini comp against me.  I'll be submitting sketches on monday for all 3 gangs to see how different the ideas are between us all.  Neither of our peices would be entered into the final though.

i had a quick stab at the nightriders logo...probably a bit too clean and unscary but...here we go

well here it is it took me 2 days and i drewit in school so it looks crappy lol i had to make sure the teachers wasnt watching so i was in kind of a rush ill try to post a different better one if i have the time i didnt wanna make it as fancy as the gangs these days i kept it 70s type of look and i also read that stevedores are the guys who load and unload ships so i put there territory as the new york docks and the symbol is kind of pirate like so it kinda make since
