Warriors Conclave '09

My friend (an avid Jaws fan) told me about Jawsfest which happened this year to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the movie. They did a whole host of different things and I was wondering what the liklihood of doing something for The Warriors would be.

It would take place in the summer of 2009 (30th Anniversary) in NYC / Coney Island. People could travel The Warriors route to Coney, there could be some filming (at Jawsfest I believe they recreated some scenes), maybe get some of the original cast down for the day, a screening of the movie in Coney.

It's quite a way off, but that would allow people to save up to get there and for things to be arranged. It's just an idea at this point in time but might be something to focus on after the game / dvd / action figures / remake.

Sounds like a great idea to me!! I mean they have a Big Lebowski fest every year. How would we go about organizing such a thing is the question. I will help in any way I can to make this a reality!

I love the idea and I would be a definate to attend such an event.

It's also certainly not to early to start talking about such an event as it is important to identify as early as possible how big this event could be. Also with the soon to be released special DVD and MTV's film now is the time to be talking about such an event.

I would be more than happy to discuss this with you further War Chief as I work in marketing and really think that if an event like this is to take place it will have to be driven by members of this forum lobbying for it to happen.

So let's "spread the word" and make this happen rather than just being a discussion point that just disappears.

To actually have it at Van Cortlandt Park in the exact spot where the "big meeting" was is a great idea. Who knows how to go about getting permits in New York??

That sounds like a brilliant idea, id most definitley be up for attending an event like that even if it is hundreds of miles away

That is an AMAZING idea, I'd definitely be attending that. The sheer fact that it would be in 2009 is just awesome too, cause I'll be all outta high school by then!

Yo That sound so cool,I can even picture it now,Meeting at Coney Island At night,we all get on the train, Chat it up,as we ride the train,"Tag-up maybe"?
And Like any adventure this ride would have a cool twist,? Listen to this part..

At the moment we get to "96 Street Station"a.k.a. 72nd Street to the well minded NYer's"
The group seperates from that point on, As one group follows the path with The Furies Chase,another group goes to The Point in Union Square a.k.a. Hoyt-Schermerhorn" and go on the Lizzies Trail..
or Just Get on Any Subway Train to run from the Police,all in all,it's an adventure and a story of the experience,as we than all hook up,at Union Square,and ride this out to Coney Island at 5 AM in the Morning..
And re-live the Scene with the Rogues under the Boardwalk?and The Riffs..

I am someone who thinks big,and outside the box,We can do this,and for all you know,it could be even better than the movie, It's just a State of Mind,and the Mindset,is Trying to get Home!!! Tell me what ya think??

Hell yeah, gives me plenty of time to arrange the journey and get the vest!
We could be the extra warriors that didn't make it to the meeting.
Oh man, we would all be meeting up...that would be totaly awesome, and our ever growing gang we MUST get the right attention. Great idea War Chief.

That sounds awsome, we could all meet up after making our way from the Bronx and gather on the beach at Coney and watch the movie (maybe?).
