leather piping
Re: leather piping
I am adding to the space between each "diamond". Anything else??

Re: leather piping
Can your factory make a prototype version wide enough to be made into a belt, or would they need to make hundreds of yards of belts?

Re: leather piping
They would need to make bunches of yards. They are doing me a favor making the small amount I am prob. going to make.

Re: leather piping
does anyone have an estimate of what it would cost to have this stitched on?
how do some on you plan on getting it on? stitched? glued?

Re: leather piping
You can take it to a taylor and they could put it on. If you want to be screen acurate, you would stitch it, not glue (they look stitched on, on the screen worn vests).

Re: leather piping
i shall be putting some slightly lighter piping underneath and stitching it on...i'm looking for a rounded finish.
Re: leather piping
I still do not think there was any other color (just the vest) under the piping....just my opinion.

Re: leather piping
to my eye the diamond holes don't look hollow...the colour underneath sems to be level with the diamonds but i'm just gonna go with a slightly lighter yellowy brown piping underneath...if i can find some that is...
i've actually made some using the same method and it looks quite good but i've only made a small length and it took bloody ages...

To avoid an unnecessary trip, call ahead to make sure it's a tailor that is equipped to handle sewing leather, as some, I'ver found, are nottriscender wrote: ok hopefully they will go easy on me.

Yea, sorry. Not all tailors can do it. They have to do embroidery or stitch leather4nik8 wrote:To avoid an unnecessary trip, call ahead to make sure it's a tailor that is equipped to handle sewing leather, as some, I'ver found, are nottriscender wrote: ok hopefully they will go easy on me.

Re: leather piping
It's stitched and glued. The broadside are stiched and the middle glued (maybe the glue make a lighter color). Also i think that the space between diamonds is the same of the length of the diamond cuts only that they have the dots in the middle. It looks very good, did you use the measures of 4nik8?
Re: leather piping
Yes, I used 4nik's art, my factory just has to get the spaces correct, which they are doing as we speak.

Re: leather piping
Just got the art for the revised piping and I think they have it correct now. Should have samples in about a week.
