Riffs Vs Turnbulls
Mr. Rem is 100% correct.
Additionally, as you may recall, it was sometime in the 70s, not sure what year but certainly by 1979, that some of the street gangs, including the Riffs and ACs, had unionized. In order to cut rising payroll costs, gangs found they had to cut back on overtime. Thus, many of the gangs worked in strict eight-hour shifts -- 8-4, 4-midnight, midnight to 8. During a crisis such as the assassination of Cyrus, some monies would undoubtedly have been approved for the funding of overtime pay, but most likely only for those members who could best assist in the search for the Warriors. So while we do see gangs with larger numbers, the gangs are still not at full strength.
As for the Turnbull ACs, gas prices in late 70s America were sufficiently high as to make the use of a second bus a luxury the Turbulls could not afford.

the other 112 warriors would of herd about them on the radio right
i have a reason, so there fore i am not a rebel without a cause
Re: Riffs Vs Turnbulls
Where would you be that early in the morning??? Sleeping lol. The other Warriors i'm sure were not worried, i mean the whole meetings purpose was peace between all right? Why would they beleive anything was wrong.
Maybe half the Riffs watch or patrol the Turf while the other half trains inside and they switch out? Who knows???
I still think the Riffs outnumber everyone. Why else would all the gangs respect the decision to hold such a big meeting?
But this is my opinion, i'm kinda weird like that...

I don't think EVERY gang was patrolling their turf - just the ones whose turf the Warriors would pass through. I would guess that the other gangs maybe kept an eye out just in case the Warriors took a detour, but those along their route home knew they would be coming that way - so they were right there waiting.Rem wrote: It's like this:

I'm kind of surprised there wasn't one more gang (other than the Rogues) waiting for them back home - or at least some of their gang brothers (who you just know were listening to the radio) - where were they?

maybe the only people monitoring that radio station were allies of the riffs...the warriors should have taken that boombox that they had at the deleted start...they would have missed the dj's announcments when they were listning to the dick dale tape

Re: Riffs Vs Turnbulls
There's some surf-style Dick Dale-esque guitar riffing on one of the deleted opening scenes, specifically the one where the 9 walk along the boardwalk, on their fateful journey to the Conclaveunion_jack wrote: its never dick dale at the start?

The Rumble by Link Wray. I think it was the first music track containing no lyrics to get banned for inciting gang rivalry back in the day.
