Before I go into extreme research mode, are you certain that there are not two scenes in Arachnophobia, involving cereal and spiders, and the other scene (not the one of the dead spider) is the one you seek?

is it at all possible you're conflating the memory of the spider in cereal from Arachnaphobia, with the famous scene in Creepshow, in which a bunch of cockroaches run out of a cereal box?
