Classic & Cheesey Old Horrors
You just gotta love the old horrors, they may not be scary now but they are the ones that started this Genre. You may laugh at The Giant Claw in the 50s or laugh at the acting in Sleepaway Camp. But ah, think of Friday The 13th or Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre etc.. What do guys think of today's horrors and earlier horrors?

no match, classic horror movies will always be unique and although not scary, they actually took the time to tell a story. bela lugosi will always be my favorite dracula. some of the scary blaxplotation flicks from the 70s were good too.

sometimes, the horror you don't see is the most frightening of all...

Re: Classic & Cheesey Old Horrors
I love the 'Big Four' franchises, aka Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare On Elm Street, and the lesser known films like Children of the Corn and Sleepaway Camp. The only thing that I find REALLY scary about some of these moves is the horrible fanfiction that makes me want to drink bleach.
And you know what I've noticed? These movies are getting remade in the same order they originally came out.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre came out in 1974 and was remade in 2003
Halloween came out in 1978 and was remade in 2007
Friday the 13th was made in 1980 and was remade in 2009
A Nightmare On Elm Street was made in 1984 and was remade in 2010
...As you can tell, I have far too much time on my hands.

Nosferatu scared me as a kid, i think it was more because of the score rather than the film being scary, but both together gave me nightmares along with the child catcher from chitty chitty bang bang, and Jules Holland, the same person?!?

I still like some of the Hammer house of horror films. Twins of evil remains one of my faves.

Amityville horror had a 26 year remake gap as well.
I hear a reboot of Hellraiser is in the works. Not a big fan of thosr though.

Yeah, I heard Child's Play is getting remade too.
They remade Children of the Corn but I refuse to acknowledge it's existence.

They actually made Friday The 13 in 197, but came out in 1980.Space Toaster wrote:I love the 'Big Four' franchises, aka Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare On Elm Street, and the lesser known films like Children of the Corn and Sleepaway Camp. Re: Classic & Cheesey Old Horrors
What difference does it make, it doesn't change the order of the originals/remakes.
Re: Classic & Cheesey Old Horrors
but does change the span between
