At the reunion in coney, he said he was young and stupid and was trying to be "big joe actor". He said he regrets it and it was dumb.

Too bad. He was a great actor. I've seen the original script, and who knows what could all happened if Fox was alive.

I met David Harris at the San Diego Comic Con a few years back and asked him about Thomas Waites leaving the movie. David said you could see it coming and Thomas was in no position to do what he did. He said once it happened, it was no big surprise. David also added that Thomas apologized to everyone years down the road.
