The Warriors Screen-Used Baseball Furies Baseball Bat

Post by Night Stalker »

Okay guys what do you think about this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Warriors-Sc ... SwfZ1WY5UC
I'm trying to figure out the COA, as it has a hologram which I guess matches the tag on the bat. But it looks like the COA got cut off of a larger paper slip . I Googled up Anders & Sons and nothing came up for them as either being Authenticators, Auction House or even Prop Dealers. Who are they? Anyone ever heard of them? Okay what's the take here fellas. Peace out.

There is a bat out there that was proven to be from the film and it is not this bat. I think it was a Mickey mantle bat. The COA looks bogus too.

Baseball bats arnt my forte when it comes to sports brand knowledge (I don't know anything about cricket bats either)
My gut feeling is this is a sham. I've not checked frame for frame to see if theres a brand in the movie.
e found an old bat and thought they'd get some money by saying its a film prop. Warriors being 1 of the popular cult films with a well known use of baseball bats; they say its from that film.

I wont be bidding on it, put it that way.

Awwww comeon guys! And I was just about to bid a $1,000 on the bat!! It's just got to be real as it has a COA with it, (smirk). Actually I'm in agreement with you both as it just doesn't feel right especially when I can't even find anything pertaining to the authenticators name. I googled it and came up with a construction company amongst other things.

Ok so I did some research on the bat that is known to be from the flick. This is from SAVING HOLLYWOOD website http://www.savinghollywood.com:

SCREEN USED FURIES BASEBALL BAT
Late 1960s Louisville Slugger baseball bat screen used by a member of the Furies gang in The Warriors brawl. A Mickey Mantle 125 Hillerich & Bradsby Powerized. Some marks and knicks but overall excellent condition. Marked 'PAR' on the base of the bat in sharpie. Obtained directly from Paramount studios prop department.

The one on eBay is an H&B Louisville Slugger. I would think if this isn't the same bat they would have at least bought a couple of the same bats, so the eBay one should be a Mantle bat. The COA looks horrible and the price is pretty low. Would like to see more pics and see if it is a Mantle bat and if PAR is on the bottom.

Thanks for the info Lier One. I asked the seller a few questions he was polite and he stated in part: "I don't know anything in regards to background" and "that HB-66 is on the barrel of the bat. Nothing on the end". So as it stands it's not matching up to the info you obtained from the Saving Hollywood website. Okay so which one of you guys is going to place a bid on it, ha, ha.

That bat was to be your XMAS present from me, Cochese! Now I gotta go out and shop around, find a Louisville Slugger Mickey Mantle Model Bat and send it over to you in England. You know what kind of expense you're puttin' me through?? Nuthin's easy about shopping around the Holidays :D .
But honestly what's going on in regards to ebay lately regarding so-called original Warriors pieces? You have to be really careful when shopping for anything that states it's original from that film, seems moreso now then ever.

Wow, the bat sold for $321.09, which is quite high for what it's not, but low if it was truly related to The Warriors film. The new owner might want to start taking swings at themselves with it!
