Michael Beck Interview
I can't remember if this has been posted but I've never seen it. I found another Michael Beck interview (in addition to the one on the links page) which is very good and covers The Warriors, the remake, cast members and what Michael's up to now. I won't spoil it, read on.
The one and only!

Great find as I don't believe I've ever seen that mentioned either...
Man...what I would give to be a fly on the wall during those conversations... 8)Have you kept in touch with any of the old cast members?
I still see (The Warriors') Deborah Van Valkenburgh quite often, who played Mercy. I still see David Harris, who played Cochise (in The Warriors). James Remar (Ajax from The Warriors) and I talk every few years.

Well done War Chief, it's good to hear what he's up to nowadays. Anyone gonna buy his novel if it's published? I probably will, and I know there's a few females on here who definitely will.
Why should he be bitter? He got to star in the greatest movie ever made! But you don't sound bitter about it at all, like some actors would be.

thank you for putting up that link, I have it in my book, but is always nice to read it again.
I also plan to buy the book when/if he actually gets it out on the market---AND I am praying for a Book signing someplace I could actually get too!!!
however that is mostly just my own wishful thinking.

Wow, I gotta say I really enjoyed that interview. He seems like a good guy with a level head. I like that he seems to really like his association with The Warriors, like when it was said to him about Xanadu's age, he brought up that The Warriors turned 25 as well.
Xanadu is still a flick I have to see. I do like Olivia's music (in the 70's), and the soundtrack IS really good! Plus I have to add it to the "so bad it's good" list, as I love films like that. If it is as good as "Can't Stop The Music" or "KISS Meets The Phantom" that'd be great!

Big Cyrus. He was gonna run the whole city...what crap that was.

Xanadu, Kiss Meet the Phantom and Can't Stop the Music are all cult classics in my book.
I also love Rock n Roll High School.

Oh yeah, the Ramones are my fave band actually - I think the difference between Rock and Roll High School and those other flicks is that R&RHS is actually a pretty decently-made little movie. Shows you can make a great R&R film without tons of profanity and grossness like Detroit Rock City had, which would have been a great film if it was rated PG.

Roller Boogie is one fantastic film while on the subject of crazy disco/music films.
I can't count how many times i watched that film at my grandparents

You know there's some movie called "Roll Bouce" coming out sometime. it's set in the 70s. I can't wait to see Lil' Bow Wow pull off some sweet roller skating moves.

I don't know which is Linda Blair's more terrifying film- The Exorcist or Roller Boogie! The Fox wrote:Roller Boogie is one fantastic film while on the subject of crazy disco/music films.

I like Rock 'n' Roll High School too, it's a fun, crazy little movie and I love the soundtrack. When is PJ Soles gonna get a career revival? She was nice.
I heard a while ago that Howard Stern was remaking it but I don't know if he still is. I hope he isn't, I mean who are they gonna get to replace the Ramones? Good Charlotte?

P J Soles reprised her character Riff Randell in a Donnas pop video in 2000.
She was also great in Halloween.
I love when The Ramones are serenading her in her room and Dee Dee appears in the shower.
Dee Dee Ramone- they don't make pop stars like that anymore...

That's one of my favourite parts of the movie, when Joey sings 'I Want You Around' to Riff in her bedroom.I love when The Ramones are serenading her in her room and Dee Dee appears in the shower.
I know PJ Soles is still acting, I just meant I wish she was in more stuff. I read somewhere that she's hoping Tarantino will cast her in something and do for her career what he did for Travolta's. I know she's got a small part in The Devil's Rejects, but I haven't seen that yet.

Oh yeah, the "I Want You Around" sequence in R&RHS is magic. PJ Soles looks great, all the band look cool, especially Dee Dee in the shower. I like that little smile Marky gives when Riff falls into his arms at the end.
A looong time ago when MTV used to show "rock and roll movies," I remember they showed R&RHS but the I Want You Around sequence was cut out because Riff smokes the joint and the whole sequence is what she sees as she's high.
And not that it matters, just a little fun fact, but she puts on "Road To Ruin" from '78 for that sequence but I Want You Around isn't on that album. It's actually only on the soundtrack album (but is an extra track, both versions, on a few of the Rhino remasters).
Yeah I'm a Ramones geek. Dee Dee rules.

He states that Warriors fans aren't too happy about the remake.... maybe he's read this forum??????????
" We're goin' in there like everybody else, nine guys, no weapons!"
