Let's "go back"

Post by emissary »

The Warriors has so much to look at and debate. The 2 minutes of missing footage is interesting but not what its all about. If you put some effort into it you'll obtain every possible scene there is. I prefer to talk about the gang names, who lived, who died, who should've..., who said what, when was the name "Cochise" spoken during the regular cut, how dirty the orphans are and all that stuff. That is what was so cool about this place before all this dvd criticism and preoccupation came about.

The only things that really get me are

a) The original was cool because it was cartoony. With the Director's Cut it is a cartoon.

b) The conundrum that plagues every fan like me...I prefer the story telling of the original, but the picture quality and soundtrack are so much better on the newer version....And most of those comic transitions are stomachable, but that wooshing sound they make when moving is annoying, and the intro sequence is so unbearable. It's "millenia" not "milleniums." The thing is, the ending sequnce would have been alright if they just slowly moved the camera over a bunch of cells as we see them walk away, instead of BAM, they are walking away THE END.

I likes me some white lines on those wipes too.... And what's up with that badly drawn hand pressing the button in the Gramercy Park transition?

oh yeah? well think about this, how long have we been waiting for this dvd to come out? it was supposed to a major event!! (as far as WE were concerned, anyway!)
the game comes out next week, and after that, what?
the remake? LOLOLOL we don't have to much more to look forward to till 2009! CONCLAVE!!!!!!!!!! :D
any more warriors was appreciated!!! it's still more than we had before.
i wasn't that unhappy with the dvd, except for the "no deleted scene's"
until i went to best buy yesterday, and looked at all the new releases!
i could feel my face getting red, as i stood there and looked at all the dvd's!!
EVERY new dvd or new edition of an old dvd, had at least twice the content of the warriors udc!!
the outsiders, 2 disc's 20 mins extra footage!
the blues bros. 25th anniversary, 2 VERSIONS of the movie on the disc! one extended.
and there were a few more.
every one except the warriors, had either extra footage, or extra scene's.
my point is, they really stuck it to us, on this one guys!!! i didn't think so, till yesterday.
and as far as preoccupation, of course!! this was supposed to be a major event!!! there is always more about the movie to discuss, and this was a part of that. what do you think it's gonna be like next week when the game come's out? we're gonna be flooded by 8th graders!!!! (no offense, to anyone here under 15!) LOL
Tried to give the devil my soul...
She said i had nothing to bargain with...

I agree withe soldierheavymuscle...
I appreciate anything warriors related coming our way, however, I do wish we could have gotten the same kind of great anniversary discs that some movies get. The Tron special edition was crazy big with loads of content and that was a cult movie as well.
Paramount has this tendency to release lean DVDs.

I still am a bit shocked they pulled a lucas and tweaked the film
"Run Furies RUN!"
